I have not seen people suggest a solution yet.

Only criticize and bring bad news.

Anybody can do that, what is your suggestion to replace a petrol car that serves both long and short term distances and also meets demands of more energy for the world?

You can't do that in an economical way - it requires a hybrid vehicle which is too expensive.
Fortunately - most people just makes short trips for 99% of the time
so an all electric vehicle is the answer.
Maybe they could keep their old petrol car for long trips?

You could lead by example bobby/lastnail and buy one yourself.

But we know what your answer will be to that suggestion...

The GM Volt is probably a good compromise at the moment. It is a plugin generator driven hybrid car. It does 40 miles on battery alone and can equal a petrol car in distance if need be. Also the ICE could be made to run off other fuels such as ethanol or gas etc. Most of the time people will be commuting on electric power only and charging it up at night but if they need that extra distance the capacity is there.

Alternatively there is the battery switch and go technology from Better Place and renault. That seems to be promising.

Are they planning on putting them on every corner and every 100kms on country roads? If not... still missing the point.

Gold/Longy,

thats what all good doom-and-gloom merchants call themselves - realists.
The trouble is they are very rarely right yet continue to call themselves 'realists' when the proper word is 'false prophet' or the even more accurate 'fool'.

Or they can be like you - a luddite & a polluter of our planet.

Was that supposed to be an intelligent response?

there is only ONE test for a prophet. Does what they say actually come true? if not - they are false. It really is that simple.

Cowardly cop-out. Why not be generous and say you will buy one when it gets to the same price as your current car when new???

no of course not. Since you are a lastnail sock you will simply come up with some other reason and blame oil companies or Tony abbott or someone else for why you wont buy the car you criticise everyone else for not buying.

You are a lastnail sock.

Of course you are a lastnail sockpuppet!!! who else could possibly support 100% of the time, the utter drivel that leaks from lastnail's mouth and onto his keyboard??? Only a sock or a lover.

Make up your mind. And while you are at it, try and express it occasionally. Ah... but thats the problem... you are a lastnail sock puppet and thereform dont have an independant thought.

You had your opportunity with Daryl from evnut.com. You didn't want to debate the issue with someone who actually owned an EV so get the bugger off this thread you muppet.
