How many years you serve in the army Italian?

You need only long enough in the Italian army to find the reverse in various vehicles and to put various guns on the ground without discharging them.
SO that one day. Plus 6 month to learn to march in formation on 25 April.

Would it be okay to fill Italy up with 3rd world migrants? (Gist can answer this too if he likes).

Italy accepts over 100 000 asylum seekers a year ... now they can claim they have a problem ... you on the other hand are just pissing in the wind ...

Italians, like rats they infest each country.
Germany apologized for the holocaust what did the Italians do?
Nothing. No compensation, no apology.

You have served in no army.

Like many very loud in talk but never see any danger.

I have been into Gaza.

what was your job? cleaning the toilet cubicles? Did you volunteer service in your army once your compulsory time was served or did you run and hide?

I was regular soldier infantry.
I have been Gaza, Hebron, Golan, West Bank checkpoints, Jerusalem.

You have no idea how dangerous is this.

So you didn't volunteer? you only did your compulsory drafting and then ran away?  that doesn't make you brave ... it just makes you afraid of jail ..... like I said , a coward

You're not wrong there, son. You blokes are a bunch of dried out old pussies. Next time we go to war I don't want you anywhere near real men - I don't even want you on the phone selling war bonds.

Best we can do with you is dress you up in your mother's clothes and hire you out to your p!ssed old-fart friends.

I take it you see the "problem" as being these brown ppl coming here rather than how many ppl are drowning? Good news for you - we only take 13k a year. Oh but wait! theres all those ILLEGAL immigrants that come by plane and skip out on their visas . . . .

Postmodern Trendoid III wrote on Jul 22nd, 2012 at 11:09am:
The simple solution is this: We only take in 'boat people' who can be billeted. This would require those who want them here to volunteer themselves to do the billeting. This way the tax payer only pays for the boat people's processing. After that, the entire financial burden will be on the billeters. It is the responsibility of these volunteer billeters to ensure they are fed, clothed, sheltered, and provided with all other expenses until the 'boat person' can stand on their own two feet in all these departments.

This would include setting up a registrar were people can put their names down and sign binding legal contracts. All at the expense of the humanitarian, not the tax payer. Any excess 'boat people' that cannot be billeted due to a shortage of volunteers will either be granted a temporary protection visa or sent back to where they came from.

This should not be a problem. Because we all know that the humanitarian brigade want them here and they will be only too happy to spend their money on helping these people settle. It's win/win. The humanitarians get to feel nice, warm, and fuzzy inside and the 'boat people' get freed from 'oppression.'

We should suspend our membership of the UN and we would not be bound to take any alleged asylum shoppers. We should convert all permanent residences issued to asylum shoppers and repatriate those asylum shoppers to their countries. As an example, it is now safe for all Iraqis to return to their sand castle in the middle east.

For all those who say we should care for others let's start with AUSTRALIANS in need of caring. There is more than enough work to be done here at home in the care industry. Why not become a volunteer and visit people in hospital? Why not volunteer and do the shopping for an aged person who is no longer ambulatory? Why not help out at the House with no Steps and take a blind person on an excursion? Why not volunteer to train a seeing eye dog?

SH!T, there's more than enough work in the care industry to go around.

So you admit they become a problem. Wouldn't it be prudent to put the brakes on it now so it won't become a problem in the future?
I think you just pissed on your face.

Today Tonight ran a short story about Bear Cottage. The call is out for volunteers and donations. The people at Bear Cottage don't get about in leaky boats but they need help.

Quote:
how do volunteers help?

Bear Cottage relies heavily on a fabulous team of volunteers to assist with the smooth day to day running of the house. Volunteers complement the professional staff by providing practical support to our children and families during their stay. We ask that our volunteers are flexible and willing to help out wherever a need arisies within the house, this encompasses many diverse areas including:

Working alongside the play therapist & nursing staff with activities for the patients and their siblings such as play, craft, reading stories or taking them on outings
Assisting staff with practical activities such as cooking, cleaning & gardening
Taking visitors on tours of the house
Speaking externally to community groups who support Bear Cottage
Driving families to outings or appointments
    Walking our dog Frankie
    Administrative assistance

Volunteers need to show flexibility and a willingness to help out wherever there is a need.

Find out how to become a volunteer.
http://www.bearcottage.chw.edu.au/volunteer/help.html

Any volunteers out there? Instead of turning your back on Australian kids how 'bout helping? At Bear Cottage they don't have leaky boats, razor wire, hot desert locations, detention centres, or people without identity. They have kids waiting for their turn to die. Any OP hand-wringers or heroes willing to volunteer?

Hmmm .. that's too close to home, there seems to be some sort of belief amongst the humanitarians here that you have to live 10,000 kms away for the 'care factor' to kick in.

The simplest way to end the boat people situation - SELL CHRISTMAS ISLAND - to Indonesia. It will benefit both countries. Once Christmas Island is no longer Australian territory, there will be a dramatic reduction of people making their way to Australia via Indonesia. It will reduce the number of people dying attempting the dangerous boat journey. It will reduce the number of people suffering in detention camps.

You can read more about this on the Facebook page called Sell Christmas Island.

Proposed solution to 'boat people' problem.

Easy, fly them in.

Clive Palmer suggested this solution.

Great.  Oh wait....I was thinking of soemthing else.  That's shithouse.

Not even in the brain hivemind of a guardian reader could flying in country shoppers be seen as a "solution."

If it's solutions you want, we could:

- withdraw from the outdated UN convention , therebvy removing the excuse that "we have to take in anyone who floats ashore here"

- cede control of christmas island to Indonesia.

- sink tha boooooats

or my personal favourite:

- demand 3 years labour on massive infrastructure projects for all unathorised arrivals. They'll be safe from "persecution" for that 3 years, and if they make it through, then win the prize of residency.  Family reunions will not apply, unless those family members also complete the 3 years mandatory service.   If the snowy mountains scheme was good enough for the immigranst you clowns all refer to as an example of how we've been "enriched with their vibrancy", why is something similar not good enough for the deadbeats who rock up these days?

Good idea Wesley, except governments seem to be afraid of infrastructure these days, especially the Libs.

The NBN was the biggest project you'll get for now. A bit of forward thinking goes a long way.

Liberals are not likely to spend on infrastructure, that's why the place is so run down, years of neglect.

Talk to Tony about your idea, I'm sure he'd put it in the NO box.
