The way I read it the Bible was not written universally
#1,
The Bible [particularly the OT] is, largely, just a chronicle, recording the history of a particular people.
[Obviously] i believe that the account within the Bible is accurate.
Dictionary;
chronicle = = a written account of important or historical events in the order of their occurrence. Quote:#2
it was written for the chosen people a particular election
#2,
The 'chosen people' were intended to be an [a moral] example, to all of the peoples of the world.
They failed, in that task.
Deuteronomy 7:6
For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God: the LORD thy God hath chosen thee to be a special people unto himself, above all people that are upon the face of the earth.
Israel were
not that 'special' !! ....
Deuteronomy 9:4
Speak not thou in thine heart, after that the LORD thy God hath cast them out from before thee, saying, For my righteousness the LORD hath brought me in to possess this land: but for the wickedness of these nations the LORD doth drive them out from before thee.
5 Not for thy righteousness, or for the uprightness of thine heart, dost thou go to possess their land: but for the wickedness of these nations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee, and that he may perform the word which the LORD sware unto thy fathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
6 Understand therefore, that the LORD thy God giveth thee not this good land to possess it for thy righteousness;
for thou art a stiffnecked people.
Deuteronomy 4:1
Now therefore hearken, O Israel, unto the statutes and unto the judgments, which I teach you, for to do them, that ye may live, and go in and possess the land which the LORD God of your fathers giveth you.
2 Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.
3 Your eyes have seen what the LORD did because of Baalpeor: for all the men that followed Baalpeor, the LORD thy God hath destroyed them from among you.
4 But ye that did cleave unto the LORD your God are alive every one of you this day.
5 Behold, I have taught you statutes and judgments, even as the LORD my God commanded me, that ye should do so in the land whither ye go to possess it.
6 Keep therefore and do them;
for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the nations, which shall hear all these statutes, and say, Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.
7 For what nation is there so great, who hath God so nigh unto them, as the LORD our God is in all things that we call upon him for?
8 And what nation is there so great, that hath statutes and judgments so righteous as all this law, which I set before you this day?Deuteronomy 11:26
Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse;27 A blessing, if ye obey the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you this day:
28 And a curse, if ye will not obey the commandments of the LORD your God...
But instead, the 'example' of the 'chosen people' [in their subsequent history] only proved, how flawed the character of all human beings is.
The 'human condition'.

who were obviously the poor, and the Obese, the rest are reprobates and rejects who have no part in the kingdom of God and eternal life

Not so. [....unless you yourself, choose that fate for yourself]
Like i said;
The 'chosen people' were intended to be an [a moral] example, to all of the peoples of the world.
That, is us.
1 Corinthians 10:1
Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;
2 And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;
3 And did all eat the same spiritual meat;
4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.
5 But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness.
6
Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.
7 Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.
8 Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.
9 Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents.
10 Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer.
11
Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.
God considers every human being to be a 'lost sheep', lost in this world.
We, all of us, have been banished ['exiled' to this earth], away from God's presence.Lost, in the 'wilderness' of this world.
But ultimately, we are all redeemable.
Exodus 2:22
And she bare him a son, and he called his name Gershom: for he said, I have been a stranger in a strange land.i

thats how I interpret it...
#4,
And that is your choice.
Amos 5:4
For thus saith the LORD unto the house of Israel, Seek ye me, and ye shall live:
Proverbs 8:34
Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors.
35 For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the LORD.
36 But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death.
Psalms 25:8
Good and upright is the LORD: therefore will he teach sinners in the way.
9 The meek will he guide in judgment:
and the meek will he teach his way.
10 All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.
11 For thy name's sake, O LORD, pardon mine iniquity; for it is great.
12
What man is he that feareth the LORD? him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose.
13 His soul shall dwell at ease; and his seed shall inherit the earth.
14 The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant.
Those who want, and desire, to be redeemed, will be redeemed.
Through faith.
Through trusting God.
Through believing God.
