Voters wake up.
Aug 7th, 2012 at 8:54am

Quote:
FEDERAL Labor's primary vote has climbed five points to 33 per cent in the latest Newspoll.

But the Gillard government still trails the coalition by a hefty margin on a two-party preferred basis 46 to 54 per cent.

The previous poll, released a fortnight ago, had Labor 12 points behind the opposition 44 to 56 per cent.

The new figures, published in The Australian, also suggest Opposition Leader Tony Abbott is leading Julia Gillard as preferred prime minister 38 to 36 per cent.

But 26 per cent of the poll's 1141 respondents said they were uncommitted to either Ms Gillard or Mr Abbott as leader, a figure not seen since the invasion of Iraq in March 2003 when John Howard was prime minister and Simon Crean the opposition leader.

Labor's primary vote had dropped to a near record low 28 per cent in late July.

Well todays news poll,(that our esteemed rightardss like longweekend tell us is always right) has Labor JUMPING 5 points in primary votes to what eventuates as a 54/46 TPP, WITH STILL OVER A YEAR until the next election.
The voters have realised phony Tony is full of sh it and ae shunning his lies.
The most interesting part of this poll is 26 % of voters say they dont support Gillard or Abbott, over a quarter of people that will vote dont support either party, with those sort of numbers undecided only a total moron would call the next election done and dusted.

LOL @ skippy.

The poll is just a false dawn.

Gillard has been hiding away on and people are watching the olympics.

Congrats on your optimism.

What  this tells me is that Australians like labor, but hate gillard (out of the news).  Change leader and they will win the election.

Whilst I care little for a) the topic b) who is/is not a "sock" ---- skippy you seem to hold the view that near on every poster bar about 20 are Mellie.

It's a bit ridiculous and made's you look foolish, I just thought I'd point that out.

It's now cast-iron certain every time I look on here I will see two things at least once -

1) Skippy telling a poster they are Mellie
2) Gist not remotely adding any worthwhile point and instead just abusing people.

I hate the fact there is this your side/my side and left/right childish behaviour on here. It makes you all look like a bunch of cretins.

Yes, Labor's primary lift has come from voters drifting away from the Greens.

You dope. They went from 11% to 10% - that's a 1% fall not a 10% fall. In future please leave the numbers to people who can count.

It can't be true. It was printed in a Murdoch newspaper and we know the lies told in the Murdoch press.

They're down from 14 per cent when Milne took over.

Anyway, Essential Media have been more consistent.

Their report still has Labor at 44 per cent versus 56 per cent to the Coalition.
