Well they were talking about the tent cities @ the mining towns again on ABC24 this morning. Showed pictures too. Perhaps you should watch the news then longy? Maybe you will see them. Apparently there are plenty of jobs but no accommodation.

Of course thats a whole new lot of ppl that are homeless isnt it. Apparently there was land put aside to make housing estates and even sold to developers then the govt wouldn't approve the building because the mining industry said they needed the land to mine - so no new houses and some ripped off investors.

This is the thing - there are a lot of ppl that simply cant find accommodation. If it does exist its too expensive. Some of these ppl are not broke and are working. The govt is not approving developments.

I saw it on the 7.30 Report last night, Muswellbrook, loads of people in tents. Something to do with coal mining, which incidentally the town don't want, even the businesses.

In some towns the rents and food have sky-rocketed, and there's such a desperate lack of accommodation that families are forced to live in tents. Adam Harvey reports on one such community in NSW.
