i'm not a denier.
just fight the battles you can win and you cant win this one.
i can look my kids in the eye and say "kids, in life , use common sense, not ideological non sense"
you cant and wont change human behaviour.
its not about inner city aussies installing low energy light bulbs.
the ENORMOUS number of poor aspirational people (billions of them) ,dont share your world view, theyve never even heard of it. they are going to get the cheapest power they can and exploit the planet as much as they can. and you cant blame them. climate change debate should be focusing on preparation for it when it happems
I think I prefer the deniers.
It's far from too late to stop the worst consequences.
MOTR , there is a certain ammount of carbon locked up in fossil fuels. i see NO evidence that there is the will anywhere to stop mining this. in fact, quite the opposite.
enormous expansions in coal seam gas and coal. the bigger mines in qld are now 8 X as productive as the bigger mines a decade ago. state governments love it.
and we are a rich country, do you really think the rest of south east asia are going to deny themselves economic growth.
short of a miracle new technology, it will ALL BE MINED. thus the end point is the same. we may get there 2 hours later thanks to the carbon tax but get there we will.
and yes, according to what i have read, it is already too late.
