I will say this much.

We commission a report which Im sure has cost a few million to do.  The report comes out with 22 recommendations.  I am pleased that the ALP is prepared to adopt all 22 recomendations from the expert panel.

If you arent prepared to accept the recommendations from an expert panel that you commission and costs millions, you shouldnt commission them.

If only they did the same with the Henry Report.

The ALP gets a tick from me for responsible government on the issue of accepting the expert panels findings and recommendations.

Exactly, well said verge, but as you can see, the Conga line are not happy because it removes phony Tony's daily squawk of stop the boats rark rark stop the boats. Phony tony and the conga line ARE pissed off, they wanted people to continue to die at sea because to them this removes their last remaining wedge now that the carbon tax has proven to be no big deal.
I disagree with the decision and do not support it, but I am pleased to see the conga line pissed off.

Will this neutralize the issue?

Well phony tony won't be able to parrot stop the boats rark rark stop the boats, every five minutes.
That mixed with the fact the carbon tax has not created the mayhem phony tony and the solid gold conga line said it will and Labor going up 5 points on the last news poll is likely just the beginning.

yes skip and I am sorry to say this but we knew the greens prefer to see people pay to risk their lives in the ocean to come through the back door.. its the greens way..

you see onshore processing will never STOP the boats.. and thats what we need to do..

last I heard another boat was missing...

this is not about stopping refugees its about stopping the boats and people smugglers.

something the greens dont seem too worried about.

I notice the conga line avoided my white elephant in the room about white boat people, if these people were white we'd be sending ships out to meet them, instead phony tony wants to turn them around to drown them.

They didn't really have much choice other than to accept the findings, did they? Why won't this 'responsible government just admit they got it wrong? Not one of them has said that yet.

the recommendations basically support what Gillard put on the table 6 weeks ago ...why doesn't Abbott admit he got it wrong when he turned it down?

The issue has nothing at all to do with the colour of the people.

In fact nobody on any side of politics has even made mention of that from what I can see.

Totally irrelevant - it is about what is doing what is right for these people and stopping them risking their lives in poorly fitted out boats in rough seas.

This result is a win for all and I am pleased to see the Government come around to the right policy - a shame it has taken this long for them to swallow their pride - but better late than never.

This is the first time Gillard said she would process people in Nauru.

Full credit to her for finally admitting though that this is what needs to be done.

I bet that as far as he is concerned any topic that isn't about Isreali's internal policies is an international policy...
