What's for Dinner?
Aug 15th, 2012 at 12:38am

I got the shīts with work today, so I left early, went home, sat down for half an hour or so and then started making dinner.

I baked some salmon fillets (after sprinkling on some olive oil and seasoning), shallow fried some chips, some oyster mushrooms (started by frying some onion, then put in the oyster mushrooms and, when they were almost ready, I put in a generous helping of soy sauce and left it on a medium heat to reduce) and made a d'entrecasteaux salad.  Dessert was vanilla and elderflower ice cream (OK, so I didn't make that - I bought it) with fresh blueberries.

I'm doing some fried rice tonight - I fried some onion and bacon (with a bit of chilli) and added some sliced mushrooms and diced capsicums.  Then I'm going to add the cooked rice and stir in three (or maybe four) eggs - sort of a bit like kedgeree, but not so eggy or spicy.  And a garden salad and steamed zucchinis and steamed spinach.
