Aquascoot, Matty is a student from the Northern Territory who left Australia because he didn't want to pay the carbon tax.

We told him only people who produce tonnes of carbon emissions pay the carbon tax, but I don't think he understood. He listened to Alan and Mario, who said that prices would rise by 180% - across the board.

Anyway, Matty decided to go to New Zealand until some bright spark announced that they have an emissions trading scheme, so he settled on Dunedin. His father gave him two hundred thousand for the trip over.

Matty used to be a member of the Greens until he found out about their environmental policies. I think he got them confused with the RSPCA.

He's now in the Liberal Party, but he's given up politics while he avoids the carbon tax in Dunedin. He'll come back when Mr Abbott gets in. His return, as some here have specified, will be thunderous.

Yea Alan is the coach, he likes to get as much as he can out of his teams. Cwissy and Ashby are the conditioners, Alan likes his boys in good condition.I hear matty is the team mascot.

Getting the carbon tax in was bad enough. If she wins (a statistical impossibility, unless she rigs the vote), Matty can just move to another place where his father has real estate.

Well they were right! The Chef at Lavenders who predicted the carbon pricing scheme would mean his prices must go up by a 150% has been proven correct. Matty and Allan tried to warn us - but we wouldn't listen. I sincerely apologise to Matty and Allan

My confit of duck is now beyong my purse strings - the trio of dips with warmed toast unaffordable - and the caramel creme is just gone.

How will I cope now? I used to LOVE a latte there during the day watching Allan use the gents convenience across the road - what a busy place that was. Many went in but Alan never came out til sunset. One wonders what was so interesting in there.

In the services, the ceremony of "beat retreat" was often called 'beat the meat' I wonder If Allan knew that?

Alan has bowel problems, Lisa. Sometimes he needs to use the amenities over the road from Lavenders, his favourite resturant. It's a common occurance in men of his age.

The price rises are happening right now. Inflation is going through the roof. Alan said to listen the Reserve Bank and not to panic. The last thing we want is runaway inflation and people carrying their money around in wheelbarrows. The Australian people need to stay calm, even if it is an economic crisis.

The first thing we need to do is throw out the current rabble in Canberra. The second thing is to create incentives for the carbon companies to produce more. Mr Abbott is already talking to Alan about rebates for big carbon emitters. It's not Liberal policy yet, but it's on the table.

Just one of the marvellous things waiting in store with the future Abbott government.
