Three NZ soldiers killed in Afghanistan

Date
    August 20, 2012 -

Three New Zealand soldiers serving with the Provincial Reconstruction Team in Afghanistan have been killed after their vehicle was hit by a roadside bomb.    Sad

The incident happened in the northeast of Bamyan province about 9.20am on Sunday (local time), the New Zealand Defence Force said.

The last vehicle in a convoy was hit by a roadside bomb, northwest of Do Abe, on the road to Romero.

The remaining personnel in the patrol secured the location and waited for additional support.

"We are deeply saddened by this loss," Chief of Defence Force Lieutenant General Rhys Jones said.

"On behalf of the entire New Zealand Defence Force, I extend my deepest sympathies to the families, colleagues and friends of the personnel involved."

Next of kin have been informed.

The three deaths come just two weeks after Lance Corporals Pralli Durrer and Rory Malone were shot by Afghan insurgents near Do Abe.    Sad

They're not 'there for nothing.' They're there for a noble cause. They only die in vain if nihilists like you control the discourse.

Absolutely disgusting that you think you have the right to decide when our soldiers die in vain.

pansi is never happier than when a serviceman and in this case a service woman has been killed serving their country.

She must live a truly desolate life to find joy in the deaths of other human beings.  Angry

You're talking about Russia under Stalin, right?

How about the millions of people the West has saved through foreign aid? How much has the Taliban handed out to needy nations?

Only you find that use of laughing out loud appropriate on EVERY story that deals with the death of aussie or now kiwi soldiers.

You find this acceptable because you are vile little person devoid of any compassion.

How about you just shut the bugger up and not say anything at all.
