again Wong thinks tourism will keep us afloat in the future....thats what she said on lateline.

Looks like another outbreak of masturbation in Canberra.

Keating was the last idiot to want a tourism and services based economy. Does anyone remember what SARS did to tourism?

I think Prevailing may have a new cell mate. Say hello to Juliar in there if you see her.

How SARS Affects the Global Economy

    Barbara Carroll, NewsMax.com
    Monday, April 21, 2003

The SARS virus is hurting not just the airlines but also hotels, businesses and industries far from its epicenter. Companies in Canada, Europe, New Zealand, Australia and the U.S. are feeling the effects of this worldwide outbreak.

Travel in Singapore is down about 60 percent, with hotel occupancy down 20 percent there and even more at many Hong Kong hotels, the London Times reported today. Retail sales have been cut by as much as half in both cities. Canadian hotels and restaurants are showing a sharp decline in domestic and tourism business. World conferences in Asia and Canada are being canceled, affecting an area of local economy that was previously a mainstay of such cities as Hong Kong and Toronto.

In the not too distant future we'll be asking why our government didn't do more to push international action.

Who's going to pay to dump rubbish when most of it can be burnt off?

If its legal. Most places its not. @ least in ACT you arent allowed to just have a fire in your yard. Dont think you are supposed to in QLD either. . . . .besides if too many ppl do it they will make is illegal just so you have to pay to go to the dump.

Anyway, carbon tax....ok with me because I want a clean earth.

Be nice if they actually funded some alternative schemes.

Good to see labor have finally put our economy in line with a failed economy

That is the goal. Ruin Australia's economy like EU so that we use less carbon on economy failure, not via a carbon price.

well I guess that hits the nail on the head..

its the first I have heard about Europe going for $29 a tonne..I am sure Italy will be thrilled when its car manufacturing bites the dust like ours is going too.even Germany has more car manufacturing overseas now than in Germany... its bizarre....

Are you blaming the car manufacturing on carbon tax? Seriously? They were in trouble long before the carbon tax. Remember the bailouts? Not just in australia either.
