]if it isnt a TAX why is it still called a TAX?[/highlight]
it will be called a price in 2014.
either way we will still be paying for it one way or another..they can call it TAX. DUTY.STAMP DUTY.LEVY.REGO.FINE.. to me it all ends up in this great big melting pot..and then they play spin the wheel.
it isn't called a "tax".
Australia introduced a price on carbon on 1 July 2012.
A price on carbon is an incentive for those that will pay it (big polluters) to change the way they do business.http://www.climatechange.gov.au/en/government/clean-energy-future.aspx The objects of this Act are as follows:
(d) to put a price on greenhouse gas emissions in a way that:
(i) encourages investment in clean energy; and
(ii) supports jobs and competitiveness in the economy; and
(iii) supports Australia’s economic growth while reducing pollution.http://www.comlaw.gov.au/Details/C2011A00131/Html/Text#_Toc308513395It is a price. As promised. Not a tax. As promised.
It is a carbon price with a 3 year fixed price period, changing to a market based price.
You seem to be getting confused with the Liberal policy. It is the Liberals that will use your tax money to pay polluters.
so this govt isnt paying anyone....not to pollute..
why are they paying compensation.to people if this PRICE as its now called isnt going to affect them???
if you want to split hairs.. you are saying if it was a TAX it would get passed on to the consumer..
if it is called a PRICE it changes things and it doesnt get passed on to the consumer..
if they are paying compensation..if my petrol goes up because of the PRICE and not the TAX.
I am getting paid to pay the extra cost I am not being asked to stop using my car and save the planet..isnt that so??????.
to me ... you are right.. I dont give a stuff what it is called..mess me about with words as you choose..
its the end result that I concern myself with..
if its a PRICE i will not be affected???????
is that right?
but if its called a TAX I will be.... is that right?
if it wont affect me why all this worry about power prices????? doesnt make sense.
