Here is a history lesson too, why do you think the borders changed in 1947,1949 and 1967?

Who do you think attacked and lost?

Shouldn't you be home defending the mother country instead of hiding in Australia like a coward?

We are not occupying Gaza at all.
We gave it to them.
Guess who had before we. Palestinians? Wrong. Egypt.
Egyptians think Palestinians are second class like Jordan does, like Lebanon does, like Tunisians does.

Palestinians are treated better by Israel than their Arab "friends".

Trust me there is just one people more disliked than Palestinians in their Arab League and it is Iranians.

You will note that under international law it is illegal to gain land via military actions. This makes it an illegal military occupation of Palestinian lands.
If I take you from your house and put you in a Nazi ghetto, that does not make your house mine.

Why should anyone listen to you when you either have no knowledge or respect for common law?

Well obviously there are going to be agents and the like operating in Gaza.

When one queries the definition of occupation you will find that there essentially is an official occupation of Gaza:
Quote:
oc·cu·pa·tion  (ky-pshn)
n.
1.
a. The act or process of holding or possessing a place.
b. The state of being held or possessed.
2.
a. Invasion, conquest, and control of a nation or territory by foreign armed forces.
b. The military government exercising control over an occupied nation or territory.

Israel does have pretty much control Gaza in most aspects.

My apologies here - I was born in the 50s so have only history to guide me.    My understanding is that the Jewish people were so despised that no one wanted them.   I also understand that an agreement was reached between Britain and the USA ( plus other countries) that an annexure of another country would be forced to house these apparently unwanted people .   Is this true?

I am in the 1980s born but no that's not correct.
There is different views on the birth of the state of Israel.
My grandparents are there early after they yes are not welcome in Czech Republic when they come from a Nazi camp.
But they are invited by Ben Guriin to come and live in peace in Israel new state.
The intent is for shared states both Arab and Jew but this becomes not possible.

As long as there are people with views like this, than the world will never enjoy prolonged peace.
Gillard is just another stooge of the US, and Hillary probably told her what to say.
I,am not very informed about the situation in this area, but what I noticed from the media, the Israelis always manage to kill ten Palestinians for a loss of one Israeli.
If it were not for the US, Israel could not throw its weight around so much, but I don't agree with the idea that Muslims should have the right to take over the world.
The UN should be more vocal and active on the animosity between the Islamic and Western world, if that is possible, because the UN seems to be another stooge of the US.

Israel dont need the yanks Rembember the 6 day war
they beat the shyte out of thr towel heads Grin Grin Grin Grin

You are either naive or very cunning; Israel gets all the technology and money to be the best equipped army in that region.
If the Jews are so heroic, why did they go like lambs to the slaughter in the so called holocaust and not fight back?
If you are going to dye, why not dye fighting.
This does not mean, that I approve of the holocaust, although I might doubt that it was, as it has been portrait and milked by Jews for all they can get out of it.

The reality is that during and after WW2 the Palestinians accepted millions of Jewish refugees who were fleeing the Nazis. Them along with the many Jews who were already living in Palestine owned only a small minority of Palestinian land but lived happily for the most part with them.
The UK and US 'gave' them the majority of land in Palestine, combined forces along with the Jews and Jewish terrorist groups forced Palestinians from their homes etc..
From then Israel slowly claimed the vast majority of Palestinian land, forcing Palestinians into ghettos resembling the ghettos in Nazi occupied lands which the jews were forced in and still complain about to this day.

After a relatively quiet night on the Israeli side of the border, Friday morning saw the renewal of rocket fire from the Gaza Strip toward Israel's south. Several rockets hit residential areas in Ashdod; a woman sustained light injuries and a few residents suffered an anxiety attack following the rocket fire. The Israel Defense Forces struck some 150 targets overnight in Gaza.

On Thursday night, two Fajr rockets were fired toward Tel Aviv. Sirens were sounded in the Tel Aviv area for the first time since the Gulf War in 1991.

Since Operation Pillar of Defense began on Wednesday, Palestinians in Gaza have reported 19 killed and more than 150 wounded, while more than 300 rockets and mortar shells have been fired from Gaza toward Israel, leaving three dead and more than five wounded.. Iron Dome batteries have intercepted more than 130 rockets bound to hit populated areas.

The IDF said that since the operation began with the assassination of Ahmed Jabari, it has struck most of the Fajr launching sites in Gaza. The Iranian-made Fajr rockets, when fired from the northern Gaza Strip, can hit cities in central Israel.

The IDF is now preparing for the possibility of expanding the operation, including the use of ground forces in the Gaza Strip. The IDF General Staff on Friday morning approved the initial draft of 16 thousand army reservists.

If there is a draft ii for ground assault, i will be included as I am in the +3 - 7 year post military service reservist band.

I guess they had a pretty good propaganda system operating in Israel by then hey...
Those same grandparents who saw death camps in a concentration camp?  Cheesy Wink

Ben Guriin really had nothing to do with it, he may have invited some people but it was the Palestinians who accepted millions of Jewish refugees into Palestine.
The Jews then proceeded to repay their kindness by violently forcing them from their homes and killing thousands of innocent people.
Unfortunately it is not possible to violently and illegally force peoples from their homes and not have some of them defend themselves, although obviously its possible to hypocritically complain when they defend themselves.
