World ending tomorrow?
Dec 20th, 2012 at 11:49am

Yes, some believe. There are reports that people are stocking up with candles, ammunition and canned food.

A moment's though reveals that this is a pointless thing to do.

Apparently, shortly after 10 pm AEDT - so there's time to have a nice dinner and then sink a couple of scotches while you're waiting.

Where's the bit on the Mayan calendar where they predicted that the Spanish were coming?

According to the Mayan calendar, the world ended 6 months ago, because they forgot about leap years.

The end of the world was postponed indefinitely in Australia due to apathy and lack of interest. Apparently a few key politicians also had barbecues to attend.

Come on people, this is pathetic. You had your chance at Armageddon. Next time around, we need some real commitment from you.

Chucking a sickie is just not acceptable.

We should learn from the Americans. At least they had the decency to fall over a fiscal cliff.

Life on planet earth will end when our star (Sun) dies.  Could be millions of years off yet.  Humanity might get wiped off the planet prior to that. I suppose that comes down to the choices humans make regarding the earths resources, wars, respect etc...

blessings

and many have mis interpreted the mayan or long count

calendar for this and that was the end of the piscean age

the end of that cycle

we are in a new age as we continue to step through the

ages walk beyond stars , planets and time

all is well enough

so be at peace

Saw October 13, 2013 as the last dated post of this topic. Assumed that there was another doomsday prediction that this time didn't get any media coverage.

There was one from Vladimir Putin that didn't get too much publicity at the time:
Quote:
"I know when the end of the world will come," Putin said with his usual confidence during a press conference on Thursday. "When?" asked a nervous journalist. "In about 4.5bn years," he replied. Sighs of relief were breathed across Russia.
