Even pollies consider THEMSELVES to be more important than their 'masters' [the 'public'], and [if they are ever threatened] they can call on armed 'special branch' officers to protect them, and their families.

BUT, if you [a member of public] were report to the police that you have been threatened [even by a known criminal], the police will [almost always] refuse to assign any 'resources' to protect you or your family.
