I am frightened by religion.
Don't let me start on it's history as I could provide a whole book of proof
from quotes via the internet.

Longweekend is forgiven:

Quote:
all are forgiven unconditionally, and LOVED beyond measure,
it is better to conquer thyself than to win 1000 battles...in LOVE and LIGHT namaste

religion as a form of brainwashing is very bad.
but some of the doctrines in religion are very useful.
it is the old paradox.

i can find nothing harmful at all in the statements of the buddha and of confuscius.

most of jesus's statements , say the serom on the mount
"blessed are the peacemakers
blessed are the oppressed  etc etc.
the story of the good samaritan, the turning the other cheek.
well, they seem good principles.

the problem is that ego and self centred ness can increase with religious zeolotry.
so yes religion is very dangerous and most wars are holy wars.

people hopefully can give up their ideas of "god" and "heaven" and exclusivity and focus on the divine wisdom of some of the religious thinkers.
for this reason, i would support teaching all religions to people in the same way as teaching all the philosophers may prove helpful.

in the end people are spiritual beings.
they will need more than ipods and football to make life meaningful.

to try and cut off the head of religion through aetheism will prove counter productive.
to demystify it would seem the best course and you cant demystify it without understanding it.

Hi Acqua,
check this website out:

http://www.evilbible.com/

Quote:
This web site is designed to spread the vicious truth about the Bible.  For far too long priests and preachers have completely ignored the vicious criminal acts that the Bible promotes.  The so called “God” of the Bible makes Osama Bin Laden look like a Boy Scout.  This God, according to the Bible, is directly responsible for many mass-murders, rapes, pillage, plunder, slavery, child abuse and killing, not to mention the killing of unborn children.  I have included references to the Biblical passages, so grab your Bible and follow along.

Up there ^^^^^ Muso posted this:

Quote:
THe next poster to accuse somebody of defending pedophiles just because they are religious, will have a short holiday from the forum.

Be warned.

He has since deleted it.....but some others have 'quoted' it into a reply.

The 'warning' was made by Muso in innocent error, and can safely be ignored
in this Relationships
Section.

It may well be applicable in the General Sections, so take care there.

Thanks Mod -

to all out there -

why have I been the only one enlightened enough to have forgiven Longweekend?

Obviously the event of 21.12.12 has not touched us all equally.

Judging by the thread titles & responses in Polsucks over the xmas break I am now calling for LongWeekends re-reinstatement as moderator.

He didn't blow anything.

Whiney little bitches like yourself, cried enough that the CEO was influenced.

Perhaps more posters like myself should have spoken up & countered your little tantrums. Sad

No official reason was given.

It could have been due to banning people who didn't agree with him.

he is forgiven.

Yes Light - he is forgiven.
You are only the 2nd person to forgive him on this forum.
Now - a great weight has been lifted from your shoulders.

cheers
Bobby.
