If you can't see the bias then it's set in deeper than thought.
More reason why its funding ought to be pulled.

QandA is very biased. Almost every episode has a segment on boat people, gay marriage, and climate change; which are all cheered on by the biased audience. If anyone has a differing view from the leftist orthodoxy, then the boos and hisses start.

Its funding should be pulled.

feel free to go and watch live ... you too can boo and hiss at anything you don't like ...

the fact that people that are passionate about the issues you have raised voice that passion does not make the ABC or Q & A biased.

When they have regular segments as well on topics like drive by shootings in South-Western Sydney, immigration quotas, and practical ideas on lowering unemployment (instead of whining about big business), then I might consider it unbiased.

like I said, feel free to go and ask whatever question you like ... that's the beauty of it .. the public asks the questions .. obviously others don't care about the issues you mentioned (or not enough to go onto Q & A and raise the issue) ... instead of accusing the ABC of being biased, why don't you go to a show and raise them yourself? You don't even have to get of your backside ... you can send a question via the internet, all you need is a webcam . I think they even accept questions via twitter ... while your at it maybe you can raise the issue of the ABC being biased, see how they respond. The fact that people don't ask what you want asked is not a reflection on the show.

If we did not have the ABC we would be left with no credible news channel what so ever.....We have already lost the commercial media to vested interests…..Could you imagine an Australia with only News Ltd and a Singleton / Rinehart Fairfax media empire to present us with our news…..The public interest will always be served by having a public broadcaster that is adequately funded and scrutinised by an independent 3rd party…..The ABC provides a service commercial stations do not provide especially for young children…..Having diversity in the media can only be a good thing!!!

You seem to think I haven't posted questions on their website. Also, you seem to claim that it is as easy as posting a question and it will be presented. All questions are analysed and moderated according to the agenda of the QandA organisers. If they hit on topics too far from their trendy agenda, then they're ignored.

You can't tell me that gay marriage is the number one topic Australians talk about, or even a topic in their top 5. Workers at lunch time don't sit around talking up the positivity of gay marriage. Most people don't give a sh*t about it.

i don't know if it's necessarily biased towards liberals or labour supporters given that the program allegedly attempt to mirror the electorate in the audience and generally have a mixture of panelists on each episode, but it most definitely chooses to focus on some issues and some not at all. immigration is never ever discussed on the show except in the form of the 'boat people' - i suppose one could say that q&a is biased by choosing to omit the discussion of certain issues altogether.

Or maybe immigration isnt an issue - they discuss things that are currently in the news.

What a stupid comment.....The ABC does not advertise so it must be funded by taxpayers.....The ABC was the only television we could get when I was living in the NW and it provides a very valuable service to remote people.....Worrying about a few shows that may have perceived political bias is typical of the rabid right.....It is not all about you is it???

ahhh, so you are upset they didn't ask your question? why wouldn't they? how could anything be more important than what misty wants to ask?

they get hundreds of questions and they cannot ask them all. They are a TV show and as such they react to the viewing audience . Obviously gay marriage and boat people bring in the punters. The fact they don't ask your question does not mean they are biased, it means they are trying to attract a wider viewing audience than one.

Douche, I never claimed the ABC in its entirety ought to be stripped of funding, only shows like QandA that have an obvious agenda.

probably not ... but right now the hot issues are gay marriage and asylum seekers ... when immigration becomes the hot ticket, those who still have questions on gay marriage can then post that the ABC is biased because it won't air their questions ....
