So - Sprint & Baron - two declared believers -
what do you think of the 2012 Mass on the video?

At 2.27 it says "Lucifer who will never be defeated, Jesus is your Son......"
Or that was about the interperetation I read.

Maybe he refers to sin. Maybe he is saying we cannit defeat sin, and our sin gave birth to Jesus ?

Just a guess

Longy,

The quotes were directly in context.
Apologise to Nail.

Hi Sprint,
Nice try  but don't you feel a bit like an apologist for them?
All that devil stuff puts me off the church.

Religious people give more to charity because they give to their church, but the church doesn't pass it all on to help the poor.

"Direct donations to churches and to religious charities make up nearly half of all charitable giving by US households. It is questionable, however, whether this figure alone is evidence that church donations help the needy of society at large rather than simply support the religious organization itself. "

do you think that quoting from an openly anti-church atheist group like that imputes credibility to your argument? You can pretend all you like but the truth remains and has always been true that the vast bulk of charity work is done by the various Churches. it isnt even disputed in well-informed circles. Governments now run some of their social program thru churches because they are so good at it and give such good value for money.

a secondary point and one that atheist-nail often brings up is this rather bizarre concept that a private organisation like a church is somehow 'not permitted' to spend any of its own money on itself like for staff or buildings. it seems a rather odd and silly things to say, but somehow... it still gets said.

I think Nail was referring to covering their buildings with gold.

Christianities history has given them a bad name but I  believe Christianity in Australia is not a bad thing. It doesn't push anything down people throats and the principles are of self betterment.  I wonder what will happen when the idea of the soul is dead and it's all about genetics and science. Hitler adopted those ideas and he he killed the disabled and bred super humans.

The charity crap is a strawman anyway. You are trying to distract from the fact you believe in fairies or @ least pretend to. If religion wasnt there the charities would still be because there is a need. There are plenty of charities that arent run by churches but you ppl refuse to acknowledge them. Not that it matters because like i said its a strawman.

the reason that you are poor and living in a one-room renter is exceedingly obvious.  you understand not one jot of the concept of responsible financial management. You spend today and complain tomorrow that you have nothing. that is why better managers than you (most people) actively save and invest for tomorrows expenses.

which part of these verses DON'T you understand ? Why are you so retarded to read basic English that even a primary school student would have no trouble understanding !!

Where do any of verses say to stockpile money or valuables ??

Quote:
Matthew 6:19

Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Luke 14:33

Any of you who does not give up everything he has cannot be my disciple.

Matthew 6:24

No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and Money.

Matthew 19:21

Jesus answered, "If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me."

Hebrews 13:5

Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you."

Phil 2:3

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves.

Acts 2:44-45

All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need.

stop quoting scripture if you are not willing to accept the entire message. you quote what you want out of context and then expect to be taken seriously.

Jesus was once asked questions not dissimilar to this and in reply posed them a question - which they refused to answer. His response was "since you refuse to answer My question then I will not answer yours"

ditto.

Now you are just adding your bullshit to it as usual.

Do those verses say to stockpile money or pass it directly onto the needy ??

YES or NO ??

why would anyone donate to a so called charity that spends most of the money on itself and on useless assets such as property and stashing the donations away in a bank vault ? What good is that to a sick and starving child ?

That's why these charities should be treated as a business so their books are open for scrutiny.

No he wasn't. The Nazi's and Hitler were national socialists. They don't believe in religion. The Nazi's got rid of Christmas carols etc and were slowly eroding Christianity in Germany. Would a bunch of christians sterilize people and kill of the sick? I saw a picture of Hitler with the grand mufti of jerusalem. That doesn't make him a Muslim.
