And remember, a lot of those Christians that you look down on, work long hours ( perhaps even longer than you) but still give up their free time to do charity work.

Gizmo,
Shut Up you self righteous windbag.
Just because some Christians help  people doesn't deny me the right
to criticise their belief in devils & witches.

Gizmo,
Yes - you hit a nerve because I'm a hard working tax payer who is forced
by law to give a fortune away in taxes to help the poor.
I will give up my time to help the poor when I retire but not now.
Morality is not the sole domain of Christians.

forgiven for your self righteousness

Religious people give more to charity because they give to their church, but the church doesn't pass it all on to help the poor.

"Direct donations to churches and to religious charities make up nearly half of all charitable giving by US households. It is questionable, however, whether this figure alone is evidence that church donations help the needy of society at large rather than simply support the religious organization itself. "

http://whyevolutionistrue.wordpress.com/2011/10/19/guest-post-are-the-faithful-r...

a secondary point and one that atheist-nail often brings up is this rather bizarre concept that a private organisation like a church is somehow 'not permitted' to spend any of its own money on itself like for staff or buildings. it seems a rather odd and silly things to say, but somehow... it still gets said.

why would anyone donate to a so called charity that spends most of the money on itself and on useless assets such as property and stashing the donations away in a bank vault ? What good is that to a sick and starving child ?

That's why these charities should be treated as a business so their books are open for scrutiny.

I run a business and my books are open to no one but the ATO. My church however has books open for anyone to see. So once again, you are wrong.

OK where are these open books ??

none of those pricks will reveal their books otherwise people would not donate money to them when they see so little of their donations going to the needy Sad

Hitler was a christian!!!!! Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin I'd better believe the belt buckle. Leaders tell their people what they want and need to too.  You people really make me laugh. Either that or puke. Life_goes_on wrote on Jan 6th, 2013 at 9:02pm:
Nothing like a good old bit of internet forum historical revisionism.

Hitler was Catholic. Hitler believed in god. Hitler was a Christian.

What did the belt buckle of every german soldier say?
Gott Mit Uns - or - God With Us

While there were those in the party who were all into changing the whole Christmas thing back to some form of pagan Germanic thing, that was more Himmler's baby - not Hitlers.

Don't believe all the sh!t you read on the net.

Surely Hitler wouldn't have used deceptive propaganda? After all, he was a Christian.

600 years of the Inquisition at the hands of the Catholic Inquisitors makes Christians worse than Hitler.

And here is proof that Hitler was a christian including excerpts from his speeches.

Yes, I believe they did. I do believe that there's a hint of the   "No True Scotsman fallacy" in your post.

Hitler was a Christian.
I could find many links to prove it but what is the point when
some have already made up their mind that he wasn't?

Yup

Nice graphic SOB. Perhaps you should heed your own advice. I have not seen anyone here try to do this as much as you.

But I still haven't seen you post a rational response to the fact that religious people donate more of their time and money to charity than atheists.

Have you provided any evidence for the proposition? Its prolly not even true.

SOB

Sure spot. We have been discussing the evidence with you in at least two other threads in the last few days. Have you forgotten already?

What threads? Threads i am not even participating in? WTF are you talking about?

SOB

I see you havent answered this freediver. Is that because you lied?

the reason that you are poor and living in a one-room renter is exceedingly obvious.  you understand not one jot of the concept of responsible financial management. You spend today and complain tomorrow that you have nothing. that is why better managers than you (most people) actively save and invest for tomorrows expenses.

which part of these verses DON'T you understand ? Why are you so retarded to read basic English that even a primary school student would have no trouble understanding !!

Where do any of verses say to stockpile money or valuables ??

Quote:
Matthew 6:19

Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.

Luke 14:33

Any of you who does not give up everything he has cannot be my disciple.

Matthew 6:24

No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and Money.

Matthew 19:21

Jesus answered, "If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me."

Hebrews 13:5

Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you."

Phil 2:3

Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves.

Acts 2:44-45

All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling their possessions and goods, they gave to anyone as he had need.

stop quoting scripture if you are not willing to accept the entire message. you quote what you want out of context and then expect to be taken seriously.

Jesus was once asked questions not dissimilar to this and in reply posed them a question - which they refused to answer. His response was "since you refuse to answer My question then I will not answer yours"

ditto.

Hahahaha. What was the chapter and verse for that one longy?

SOB

Still waiting longy.

You know if you were in such a good position you wouldn't have to make up stuff

I doubt Hitler thought he was a real Christian. He would have been playing the Machiavellian game of appearing religious to the people, but being the Fox and Lion behind the scenes.

Hitler's ideas were based in popular philosophies of his time: German Romanticism and Racial Science.

Romanticism looks at the people as intimately tied to the land; like the trees, animals and flowers, the people are an organic entity that are attached to the soil (hence the famous term 'blood and soil'). This world view arose in reaction to the capitalist world view which they believed drained the life and vigour from the people. Romanticism is a kind of 'return to nature.' Traces of this world perspective can still be found in the Greens today.

Racial Science was of the position that the Aryan peoples were the creators of all science, art and technology, and the 'lesser' races could only be bearers or maintainers of the original products created by the Aryans. This 'genius' was passed on eugenically and it held the belief that race mixing was the ultimate downfall for creativity. If you read the chapter "Nation and Race" from Mein Kampf, this pretty much outlines the basis of the Nazi movement.

Hitler appeared to the masses as religious because that is what the people want and respect; they want a leader who represents the 'good' and something that transcends the mundane  It would have been political suicide to slander gut in front of the masses. The 1930-40s were not like today where openly being an atheist is seen as the 'hip' thing to be.

They seem to shy away from the truth spot. Hitler and Mel Gibson are two Christians who hate/hated Jews, they are the true Christians, the ones that have the guts to walk the walk.
