Maybe he refers to sin. Maybe he is saying we cannot defeat sin, and our sin gave birth to Jesus ?

Hi Sprint,
Nice try  but don't you feel a bit like an apologist for them?
All that devil stuff puts me off the church.

Okay, the dominant theme is racialism and its preservation. God is then inserted into the argument to give it more "authority". Can you quote anywhere from the new or old testament where such a view is espoused?

Quote:
Kill the Entire Town if One Person Worships Another God

Suppose you hear in one of the towns the LORD your God is giving you that some worthless rabble among you have led their fellow citizens astray by encouraging them to worship foreign gods.  In such cases, you must examine the facts carefully.  If you find it is true and can prove that such a detestable act has occurred among you, you must attack that town and completely destroy all its inhabitants, as well as all the livestock.  Then you must pile all the plunder in the middle of the street and burn it.  Put the entire town to the torch as a burnt offering to the LORD your God.  That town must remain a ruin forever; it may never be rebuilt.  Keep none of the plunder that has been set apart for destruction.  Then the LORD will turn from his fierce anger and be merciful to you.  He will have compassion on you and make you a great nation, just as he solemnly promised your ancestors.  "The LORD your God will be merciful only if you obey him and keep all the commands I am giving you today, doing what is pleasing to him."  (Deuteronomy 13:13-19 NLT)

Nothing in that quote backs up Hitler's claims. The Old Testament was written by Jews, for Jews, not Germanic tribes up in the far reaches of Europe.

then why did you ask for examples from the old testament ?

now first let me say , whilst i like christianity , i am not a christian per se.

but i would suspect that about 1 in 1000 christians take the bible literally.

thats 1 in 1000 that interpret it in the way that nail, bobby, pansi and spot interpret it.

apart from a few mental nutjobs like david karesh in weaco, NO christians groups would interpret any of this stuff in any sort of literal way.

also re the arguement about hitler.
what crap.
imagine we had a thread
"what are tasmanians like as people" and i posted 20 posts on the evil done by martin bryant.
would that not seem silly/insane to you.

how could anyone with 1/2 a brain say hitler was a christian. if he was i doubt he made it through the pearly gates Cheesy Cheesy

all these whack job quotes that the aetheists keep coming up with. NONE and i do mean NONE of those passages would EVER be read in a christian church in australia.

jesus isnt responsible for the old testment and he isnt responsible for the mental problems of the people who wrote the bible many many decades after his death.

and christains try to follow the example of christ , not this rubbish. just toss out the obviously crap verses and read the
"flavour' of what jesus was saying.

thats what 99.999999999999 % of christians do.

They seem to shy away from the truth spot. Hitler and Mel Gibson are two Christians who hate/hated Jews, they are the true Christians, the ones that have the guts to walk the walk.

Can you link Hitler's ideas - Romanticism and Racial Science - (although technically they were not his ideas, he merely brought them into the political sphere like no one previously) to anything from the bibles, new and old?

Personally, it doesn't bother me if he was a Christian or not. I merely try and bring a more accurate historical picture to the debate, because clowns like you and Spot place your hatred of Christianity into the foreground and push all other considerations aside.

It doesnt matter what you think of his ideas - he was an xtian because he considered himself an xtian.

SOB

That doesn't follow, because, for example, no matter have much you believe yourself to be smart or clever, you are not smart and clever. In reality, you're a complete smacking retard.

Ban me mods, I don't care. smacking retards need to be told they're smacking retards. If stupidity is given rank over informed debate, then so be it.

Disagree then do you?

The Muslim armies murdered children and women  also during the crusades. That was what medieval times were like. Modern Christianity moved on from that. Those same ideas had no place in Christianity in the 1930's.

That's what it's all about hey Borgy. Because gay people can't stomach the fact the the big religions see homosexuality is an abomination. It's behind the whole gay marriage thing. Gays can legally do all the things that marriage entails  but not in a church. It's all about changing religion. It's about going after the things that push people against homosexuality. Just say it.

They don't read Leviticus -
they cheery pick all the nice passages & then ask for money.

The question is - why do they avoid the holy words in their book?

If the church no longer uses Leviticus, and Jesus didn't have it in for gays, why does the church have it in for gays? On who's authority? if they are not using the word of God.
