You write this-----and like I said the definition of a Christian at the start of this thread applies to practicing Christians !! Then you go on about Hitler being a christian when he ordered the deaths of millions of people. How was he a practising christian??????

How were any of the xtians in the crusades xtians?

SOB[/quote

The Muslim armies murdered children and women  also during the crusades. That was what medieval times were like. Modern Christianity moved on from that. Those same ideas had no place in Christianity in the 1930's.

They never had any place but every bow and then a religious freak goes mad and does things like that in the name of the religion. Westboro baptists are going to do something (if they havent already) imo.

Not accepting two jokers and a cocker spaniel as indistinguishable from mum and dad is not exactly 'having it in for gays'.
You don't have to be a Christian to think that two blokes playing ma 'n da is a farce.  Or do you really, really think that it is no different from a father and a mother?

how could anyone with 1/2 a brain say hitler was a christian. if he was i doubt he made it through the pearly gates Cheesy Cheesy

then that makes them hypocrites because their own bible tells them to murder others for various different reasons !!

all these whack job quotes that the aetheists keep coming up with. NONE and i do mean NONE of those passages would EVER be read in a christian church in australia.

jesus isnt responsible for the old testment and he isnt responsible for the mental problems of the people who wrote the bible many many decades after his death.

and christains try to follow the example of christ , not this rubbish. just toss out the obviously crap verses and read the
"flavour' of what jesus was saying.

thats what 99.999999999999 % of christians do.

ou dont seriously think any of them read leviticus do you Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Yeah they use leviticus to say gays are evil

That's what it's all about hey Borgy. Because gay people can't stomach the fact the the big religions see homosexuality is an abomination. It's behind the whole gay marriage thing. Gays can legally do all the things that marriage entails  but not in a church. It's all about changing religion. It's about going after the things that push people against homosexuality. Just say it.

I dont know what you are talking about there but whenever an xtian is asked to show where in the bible it says gays are bad they go to leviticus.

I think you've got it totally arse about (pardon the pun)
I have never heard a church leader talk about gays in a derogatory way. I have never read anywhere where Jesus mentioned homosexuality.

The church is like a big friendly Labrador, tied up in the backyard, hurting no one (except pedo priests who need to be weeded out) but apart from that abomination the church has nothing to say on homosexuality. Anyway, like I was saying, a big friendly Labrador, that these dog hating, dog abusing gays keep going and taunting, annoying, poking, prodding, screaming at, whipping etc etc etc. And then when the lab let's out the tiniest little bark, the gays go running off demanding this viscous creature needs to be put down.

I am thinking either gays are paranoid or they have a very weak view of themselves that they feel they need to do this to establish legitimacy.????

You might be onto something - it's the 2000 year old way of saying bros before hoes.  Everyone lies to women to get them in the sack, that's understandable,  but lying to your bros is unforgivable.

That explains why you have it in for gays.

Why do Christians say homosexuality is a sin if they don't use the breathed word of God as a guide? Who told them it's a sin?

Christianity, and all major religions are aligned with natural law.  Thus, they're all less-than-enthused about homosexuality.  Why the bugger would anyone need to be told that men are meant to rut with women?

So - Sprint & Baron - two declared believers -
what do you think of the 2012 Mass on the video?

At 2.27 it says "Lucifer who will never be defeated, Jesus is your Son......"
Or that was about the interpretation I read.

Maybe he refers to sin. Maybe he is saying we cannot defeat sin, and our sin gave birth to Jesus ?

Just a guess

Hi Sprint,
Nice try  but don't you feel a bit like an apologist for them?
All that devil stuff puts me off the church.

I'm not too keen on the heirachy of some churches.
It's not what baron or myself experienced. It's not what Jesus spoke of.
Churches have much good to speak of.

The funniest part of this is that you guys actually believe the translation provided by the (obviously anti-Catholic) religious nutter, who posted the vid....

It's like the fictitious Talmud 'quotes' that Wharfy keeps posting...

I'll stand corrected in regard to my view that Hitler was a Christian.

He most certainly believed in God, but I have extreme doubts that he considered himself "Christian" in any form of the traditional sense - i.e. that he accepted the Bible and Jesus story.
