Christians believe in some things, if others don't then fine.

But why the need to bash Christianity and show all this fury towards people for believing in something?

My point was about him trying to "convert me".

SOB

He's not trying to convert you, idiot. He's giving you an understanding of what it might mean to be Christian - an answer you asked for.

Didnt you read his post?

SOB

Miss Borg, I also read the post but unlike you I understood it.

Explain it then miss k

SOB

Do you want me to wipe your arse too?

Ahh so you were lying and didnt actually understand it then?

SOB

This is for you Miss Borg.

Seriously stop trolling me. Your obsession is ridiculous. I told you im not interested.

As your own posts demonstrate, atheism is not a lack of believe in a deity (a passive thing, an absence) but a disbelief, an active thing of not believing something - and thereby believing somethjing else.

SO in that sense atheism IS a form of belief, a belief that there is no deity - and not simply a lack of belief either way.

Nope. You cant change the meaning. Atheist means lacking a belief in a deity.

SOB

Read your own words, Nicola.

yes, I had a similar experience with Jesus.
Mine was more a "sudden and dramatic" change.
Same difference as yours.

Jesus never said anything that rightards like longweekend try to ascribe to him...he was a pacifist who clearly condemned people like him in his teachings and defended the poor...the rightards true teachers are Hitler...Howard, Abbott and Gillard... Smiley

Nice graphic SOB. Perhaps you should heed your own advice. I have not seen anyone here try to do this as much as you.

But I still haven't seen you post a rational response to the fact that religious people donate more of their time and money to charity than atheists.

Have you provided any evidence for the proposition? Its prolly not even true.

SOB

Sure spot. We have been discussing the evidence with you in at least two other threads in the last few days. Have you forgotten already?

What threads? Threads i am not even participating in? WTF are you talking about?

SOB

So. 34 pages so far and nobody has told us what it means to be an xtian these days.

SOB

i imagine for a lot of them , it means finding peace and happiness through surrendering their own small ego's to a greater power.  very similar to the concept of AA.

if constantly bickering with people on the internet is not leading you to a feeling of peace and happiness, it might be worth a shot.

as coprorate whitey (in a rare moment of lucidity Wink Wink said)
the sermon on the mount might be a good place to start.

i would imagine christianity is about having a one on one relationship with christ, not a one on one relationship with some power freak bishop of the inquisition Wink Wink

for bobby et al to be constantly going on about witches and devil worship, whilst at the same time insisting that the bible is the WORD.
well i  cant even find the word witch in the bible (not that ive looked).

i agree totally with gold medal re using the internet as a research tool.
you would fail a grade 7 assignment for using even a very good source like wikipedia.

you google witch + devil + evil christian  and you'll get as much lunacy as you can handle.  a rhesus monkey could publish those results.

read the sermon on the mount, find a nice mountaintop to meditate on and mull it over for a few hours. Wink

Quote:
Exodus 22:18

King James Version (KJV)

18 Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live.

thx bobby, there you go.

i never knew that .

cheers,

No worries,
any more help you'd like with the Bible? - feel free to ask.

Nonsense, you take an anti-Christian view on hundreds of posts.
If you don't believe in Christianity then fine, but if others want to - why take such an opposing view to them?

It's no different to the Greens Party.
They dislike the Church and will oppose something just because the Church supports it.

Its not "anti xtian" to not believe it and to think its silly to believe in invisible beings that control your life. I couldn't care less if you believe in it but its funny all the same.

SOB

They are called paranormal friends & every Christian has one.

But Perceptions - aren't you worried about being cast forever into hellfire & damnation?

Surely this is the fate of non-believers?

Grin Grin

And to think that you are not joking, that you are really, really this fooking stupid at 50!

You should have a dirty big grant from Bill Gates, or a certificate from the Guinness Book of Records,  that's how monumentally, peerlessly stupid you are - you can't find something you haven't looked for!

It is a lack of finding, innit, Nicola?  Stupendous, staggering, un-smacking-believable.

Do you disagree? Or I should say, do you lack agreement?
