gen Y haven't had time to shape the world have they?  So it's a bit rich to blame the circumstances they were born into, on them.

im not blaming anyone. Im mocking your retelling of history and your pathetic whining...

uhuh.  And I'm mocking your tiny dick.   Smiley

oh very mature and thanke very much for your declaration of surrender in the intellectual side of the argument.

bitch pleez - you took this down the personal insult road pages ago.  I thought MY generation were meant to be the softcocks?

i called your generation lazy. thats not an insult. It is simply an unavoidable obersvation made even clearer by the whiny self-obsessed rantings of your own good self. You are your own worst argument.

And I agreed.  But entire generations don't take on a particular characteristic, without being immersed in an environment that promotes it.

Who created that environment, mr medal?

ah yes... laziness is a purely environmental trait, is it?. you have so obviously never had children or mixed with those that do. Thats oen of the more sillier things you have said. you are obviously a graduate of that pop-psychology that blames parents for everything and takes on no personal responsibility. that is drivel of the highest order.

I see most modern psychology, and much of the social *ahem* sciences at large as ill-conceived, unscientific voodoo.

2 strikes - do you dare take another swing?

Despite my annoyance at you YET AGAIN subtly trying to redefine my argument, I will throw you a bone from my vast repository of knowledge.  Laziness, like any trait will only become widespread, if it confers an advantage on those who possess it.  ie laziness, and the other negative traits you attribute to gen Y, have manifested BECAUSE it is rewarded and encouraged.  All part of this victim mentality that's been in vogue since...well, funnily enough since the boomers were idealistic teens.

Elementary natural selection, dear Mr medal.

I agree, it was the boomers who produced the whiney, self entitled, little snowflakes we knows as Gen Y and they have no right to complain about their sub-standard offspring. But the boomers were spoiled little brats too, so what do you expect.

the boomers were the progeny of those that went thru the privations of the depression and WW2. They wanted more for their kids. How evil was that? And of course the boomers having been raised on a diet of parents who went without so that their kids could have a better safer ad longer life than they did, did the same for their kids. just another generation of pure evil. Imagine going without so that your kids could have education better than theirs, more food and opportunities. Will this even never end?

short answer: this evil will end. the current generation will most certainly not go without for anything. they will feed themselves first, look after their own interests and objectives as the top priority. the poor buggers born to this generation will have poorer health, worse social skills and an outlook on life that borders on the narcisistic.

Yep... the evil of committed parenting WILL end.

My parents are awesome.
They provided me with everything I needed and gave me the best start in life someone could have.
I blame them for nothing.

Their generation however as a whole are nothing short of a bunch of selfish wankers who have caused the mess the world is in.

The 'greatest generation' did do better for their children, the boomers, and while they, at the time, were more self entitled than any generation previous, they still had a relatively normal up bringing.

The boomer progeny did not anything even close to normal; bubble wrapped and told that they were special just because they existed. This is no way to bring up a child unless you want a 25 yr old self entitled brat who won't leave home.

Gen Y were done no favours in their up bringing.

not even close to correct. Laziness is not even close to as simple as you make it out to be.

When I was at uni as a physics student I too looked down on ths social sciences like Psychology. they looked soft, with answers non-specific etc. The irony is that my first book was one on .. Psychology. My second book is also on Psychology and is a research project into behavioural mistargeting in children. Your simplistic detrmination of where laziness comes from isnt just wrong but VERY wrong. The PhD in Theoretical physics that I wanted to do (and was unable to do) may eventually be one in Psychology.

In time, the narrow arrogent view of the world that people such as yourself hold change and you see the breathtaking variety that exists.  Or you grow up into an old unfriendly unwanted sod who everyone hates.  I chose the former.

an interesting assessment and even more so since you hate boomers for doing the very things your parents did.

at least you are consistent in your hypocritical way of thinking.

Who opened the floodgates to hordes of 3rd world immigrants, who would either compete with the young and unskilled for jobs, or simply go straight to welafre?

wasn't my generation, and it wasn't my grandparenst generation...that leaves...uh....the flower power idiots.

Who dismantled the "patriarchal" model of family, that had seved us well for millennia, only for it to make EVERYONE even more unhappy?  Wasn't my generation, and it wasn't that of my grandparents..that leaves...the boomers.

Coincidentally, my grandparents are celebrating their 60th anniversary this month.  I wonder how often that will happen in future, now that the boomers have "solved" the battle of the sexes with their equality BS?

the 3rd world immigration is LEFT-WING doctrine of which you calim to be a proponent.
the dismantling of the patriarchal model is a LEFT-WING ideology which again, your fellow-travellers treat as gospel

you are a very confusing and confused individual. you claim to be left-wing and then criticse pretty much every left-wing doctrine around. You calime to hate baby boomers when you end up wanting exactly what they have.

You have SOB's level of confusion although thankfully packed into an intelligent (albeit arrogant) mind. I couldnt really tell WHAT you actually stand for other than hating your parents generation for unknown reasons.
