I can't help smiling at my good mate Andrei Hicks, not only does he think he knows the attitude of the unemployed, but believes they should all be like him and constantly move about the world. Nice work if you can get it ..........

Much better to sit at home on your couch, watch episodes of Knotts Landing in the afternoon and blame everyone else for the fact they are unemployed eh?

I was talking with my dad last week and he dispairs at some of those in his family. One of his relations is about 25 years old and is an "out of work plasterer".

My dad "He hasn't come then?"
"Who?"
"That bloke who knocks on your door, walks into your living room and says 'I'm looking for a plasterer'"

See his point??

You go to the jobs, they don't come to you.

Same old story, lazy fkers who won't get out of their own way.

After my dad was unceremoniously sacked by that sell out fking boozehound of an Australian PM - he then spent the next decade working in no less than 6 countries because of work constraints.

If you put it in, you get it out.
If you don't put it in - well the maths is there for you.

Those out of work through no fault of their own, with skills to offer, who are pounding the sidewalk get my time and respect.

However a load of them (and its our fault as a society making it so easy) do not bother at all.

As I said, I start a surveillance file against any right wing public figure who repeatedly threatens the security and safety of the marginalized and investigate them for crimes against the poor, crimes against peace, crimes against decency and crimes against humanity...I have named some of those people whose activities I document...Some are lobbyists, some media, some politicians., some business executives and groups...who ever they are, I have a dossier on them and their aggression is recorded... I don't mind admitting that I am spying on right wing public figures and groups who publicly threaten the safety and security of the marginalized and am building case files against them... Smiley

Well I guess that shows how young you are Hicks.
You're a wee sprout...  looking for fertile soil.

Its a bit late in the game  Hicks.
I mean... this capitalistic, use all, make profit at all costs, and war against anyone who denies you,
is old as time
.

It is the misfortune of you and your children that, ultimately, you get to pay for the profit reaped. Well, it is really looking that way , yeah? But why do YOU complain ... enabler as you are to this status quo?

You expect more from HUMANS??

Well , getting down and dirty...
the Churches led the way............
in OUR society.

As you sow, so shall you reap...  unto the nth' generation.

Its our families natural instinct to stick and ensure each others survival..nice try but no cigar, you are never going to create a society where you have broken those bonds no matter how hard you try and I know the right would love to do that to eliminate the last of their resistance...but know this...I am snug as a bug in the bosom of my family and spying on all public right wing nuts who draw my attention with threatening behavior...My father will be cared for even as he cares and our family will not squander its capital nor forsake each other as I am sure you would like to see...meanwhile my files grow larger by the day...how much public exposure is the right willing to risk...

The problem Emma is that my generation which are following behind the baby-boomers/grey haired brigade - have to put up with the fact those lot were the most wasteful, selfish generation in history.

My mother complains about her mothers generation saying they were the most wasteful generation in history. Face it ppl are arseholes and use up resources not caring about future generations. You are one of the worst - look @ all that airplane fuel you reckon you use.

The generation aged from 45-50 onwards have been responsible for the world's economy being shot to sh*t with high debt, the world's security being as dicey as it is (those of us my age were still at school during the Gulf War) and they have raped the earth of its resources faster than any generation in history.

The last generation, frankly, are a disgrace.

They also are spending their money and keep their assets (which they hoard and drive the price of houses up to the nth degree making it so hard for young families to get on the property ladder).

They are the most selfish generation there has ever been.

Just to let you know mate, the last plane I took (KL889 from AMS to HKG) would have left Amsterdam whether I was on it or not.

I used no fuel in that flight. The plane did, and it was nothing to do with me.

Same for any flight I take.

People actually take the "carbon footprint" seriously.

It's the biggest fking waste of time I have ever seen.

I was told by one of my mother's friends "I have a huge carbon footprint" as if its something I can change.

These people seem completely unable to understand the point the plane leaves and arrives every single day whether I or anyone else chooses to book on it or not.

It's like the 'switch the light off at 8am' shite - feel good horsesh*t for people to think they are 'doing something' about the environment.

Tripe.
