Yes That is right- The Unemployed Vote.
Jan 7th, 2013 at 10:14am

Yes Mr Abbott thats right, the unemployed vote.  So you have decided to jump on the band wagon.  Well Mr Abbott, would it be that your only looking at this, as you think there could be votes in it?.  So presure from the Australian greens, makes labor think they have to do something about it.  Now your lot decide to sit up and have a look. The Australian greens, have been saying for ages that the unemployed, should get a $50 a week increase.  They care about the unemployed, you care about the votes.  But yes thats right Mr Abbott.  The unemployed VOTE.     Smiley

And so do the disabled and the single mums...and we keep records of every word that comes out of politicians mouths...any move by Abbott to make welfare even more inaccessible than labor has made it will be recorded.  Australia has a seat on the security council...and remember...we have the Government under investigation for crimes against humanity...

The way they (and by they i mean any government in power) lowers the unemployment stats is to take some group off them eg ppl that work 1 hour a week.

What are the REAL unemployment numbers?

So if the REAL rate is three times more than the published rate, that would make unemployment at around 15.5%, which I still think is a conservative estimate.

Roy Morgan are saying it's double the government figures. Anyway, take your pick, unemployment is damn high with youth unemployment tipping the scales at 49.8% in Sydney's west.
...............................................................

Australia's jobless figures need some work

What does it take to have a job in Australia?

Turns out just 60 minutes employment in the particular week of the month that the number crunchers in Canberra are out in force are all one needs to appear in the "employed" half of the ledger.

Why forecasting is a mug's game

Oddly enough, this statistical quirk dates back to the 1950s when full-time work was the norm, particularly if you were male.

Still, the catch-all category may go some way to explaining how Australia's unemployment rate remains around 5 per cent, in jarring contrast to the experiences of many.

The mismatch between official statistics and the reality of many Australians can be explained by the definition of “work.”

According to the ABS: “Work is taken to mean work for one hour or more during the reference week, undertaken for pay, profit, commission or payment in kind, in a job, business or farm, or without pay in a family business or farm.”

Self-employed Melbourne vehicle refitter Jim Ioannidis dismisses that definition as "absurd."

"You would think the the real rate of unemployment is at least three times the published rate," Mr Ioannidis said. "Things are definitely tough out there."

The ABS said its employees definitions used by the International Labour Organisation that were established in 1982, although the underlying measure goes back to 1954.

Economists reckon the definition of work needs an overhaul.

“One hour of work doesn't contribute much to the labour force,” said National Australia Bank economist Ali Knight.

Australian unemployment rate twice official figure, according to Roy Morgan research

AUSTRALIA'S real unemployment rate is twice the official figure and the Reserve Bank must urgently cut interest rates, says the nation's biggest research firm.

A Roy Morgan Research snapshot of more than 4500 people in April put the national unemployment rate at 9.3 per cent.

I am noting any policy from any party, politician, academic Business group or media which seeks to drive down social security for the disadvantaged, drive down employment stability, security and conditions, increase the burden of costs such as education & energy or punish, victimize, haze them for who they are.  Any attempt to force disadvantaged and pacifists onto the mercy of the private market, any attempt to force competition and aggression, any attempt to exploit, push them onto the private rental market, intervene in families ideologically is being marked.  I am investigating various groups, leaders ect for crimes against humanity and holding them accountable for their actions and their words...So if you are implementing policy to drive suitable jobs and industries off shore and then policies to punish their social & housing security you wont be getting away with it, it will be in your personal file...your malice will be recorded, you will be personally accountable...

If you are seeking to make pensions more inaccessible for disadvantaged, or disabled people, you wont be getting away with it...everything will be recorded in your file...and that file on you is continuing to grow...and will form the basis of the legitimate charges against you of crimes against humanity...If you are deliberately hazing the disadvantaged you will be identified...you will be marked and documented...
