Greens get it wrong yet again...
Jan 8th, 2013 at 10:51pm

Despite there being an investigaqtion as to whether or not a breach of the Corporations Act (Section 1041E - false or misleading statements) has occurred, the Greens resident nutjob Lee Rhiannon has come out strongly in a show of support for the little upstart Jonathan Moylan after he posted a fake press release that resulted in hundreds of mum and dad investors losing thousands of dollars because of a 9 per cent plunge in the share price of Whitehaven Coal. This is no trivial matter, as Moylan faces a jail term of up to 10 years, with fines of up to $495,000. While I agree that some mines are being established in less than ideal locations, this isn't the way to go about opposing them. The mum and dad investors who put their life savings into these investments have now lost thousands of dollars forever without doing anything wrong other than to buy shares in a profitable and relatively stable industry. If this one percenter ends up being charged, I hope the court throws the book at him and thoroughly bankrupts the little twerp. I should say that Rhiannon should be ashamed of herself, but I think we're all used to her psychotic, ill-informed rants by now, aren't we???

Early life

Lee Rhiannon was born Lee Brown, the daughter of Bill and Freda Brown, who were long-term members of the Communist Party of Australia (CPA) and later the Soviet-aligned Socialist Party of Australia (SPA). Her parents' membership of the CPA led to documentation of her life by the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation (ASIO) from as early as the age of seven.[1] She joined the SPA around 1973.[2]
She sat the New South Wales Higher School Certificate at Sydney Girls High School in 1969 and graduated in 1975 as a Bachelor of Science, majoring in botany and zoology with honours in botany, at the University of New South Wales.[3]
During the 1970s Rhiannon was arrested during anti-apartheid protests. In the 1980s she helped organise a "peace camp" protest outside the joint US-Australian defence facility at Pine Gap, central Australia.[4] According to Mark Aarons, she left the Socialist Party in the early 1980s.[5] Rhiannon edited the Soviet-funded and backed newspaper Survey from 1988 until it ceased publication in 1990.[6][7] She joined the Greens in 1990.[3]
Lee Brown married Paddy O'Gorman, from whom she separated in 1987. They had three children. Following their separation, she adopted the surname "Rhiannon", the name of a figure from Welsh mythology.

Recently, Senator Lee Rhiannon made the following observation in the Australian Senate:

Over recent months, there has been a revival of cold war rhetoric and McCarthyism style politics with the intent to discredit my work and in turn that of the tens of thousands of Australians who have joined socialist and communist parties. By far the majority of these people were motivated by altruistic values and a desire to serve the best interests of Australia and all humanity.

she said this in the senate.. under the greens umbrella.

A very good summation of her position, cods. What has she specifically done that suggests she is promoting communism?

She has never denied the links her family had with communism. She is no doubt a socialist, but so are the vast bulk of Australians.

It seems if you want better conditions and support for the under dog you are a communist. I would agree that the vast majority of Aussies have socialist ideals, except the far right wing brigade of course. Very few people are happy about the widening gap between rich and poor and that's how it should be.

Pansi, read the "Greens at war".

Bob Browns staff referred to Rhiannon as "that troublesome Commie b*tch".

Rhiannon and Brown had screaming matches at her continuing undermining of him on several issues.

So even Federal Greens call her a Communist.

So being a member of a club in her younger days makes her a communist now? Seriously what has she actually done thats communist?

i think we should just have this thread title come up every day so we can all post in agreement.

Wink Wink Wink

the sad part is the inability or unwillingness of the green politicians to have a good hard look at themselves in the mirror.
they have serious personility flaws and need much gestalt therapy

Her ties to Communism are as well known as Gillard's numerous lies, Swan's fiscal incompetence and Rudd's penchant for hair driers. Hmmm, maybe Rudd should've married Timmy instead of Theresa? He'd have loved being married to a hair dresser!

pansi I couldtn careless about anyone being communist... but its when they run down what we have that it gives me a pain... for instance name one communist country you would dearly love to live in??

there is one thing having all this ideology  and claiming its all about the under dogs.. when in fact you really are having yourself on as communist countries would be the last to give a stuff about under dogs..

since when do you know the far right are happy with the gap between rich and poor...???? from where I am sitting it is getting worse and more so since the left have been in charge..

so are we expecting the dole to be increased just  before the next election???

pardon me if that sounds cynical

but so far I dont see much happening unless there is a vote in it.
