Morris Iemma and Federal Politics
Feb 1st, 2013 at 7:10pm

There's serious talk that Morris Iemma may stand as a candidate in the September federal election for the Labor Party. However, given that he is up to his gills with corrupt MP's during his time as Premier of NSW (Obeids), I think his presence on the ballot papers could be more of a hindrance to the ALP than a help. It would give Abbott an opportunity to paint federal Labor with the same brush used on NSW Labor - corruption, nepotism and more incompetence. Gillard must be having serious second-thoughts about calling an election now, what with Thomson and now Iemma causing her migraines!!!

Thomson isn't a member of the Labor party any more than Slipper is a member of the Libs, doofus. As for Iemma, I bet you a hundred bucks he wins the seat, or are you a soft cock?

Iemma would probably win.

I have a lot of respect and time for the man, and voted for him in 2007.

He had morals - a rarity for someone in Labor NSW.

Iemma and Rees stand out from most of the filth of NSW Labor.

Thomson is not a member of the ALP only on paper. He still votes with the ALP and still enjoys the PM's support. The day he withdraws support for the government is the day I'll believe he's truly severed ties with the ALP...

Iemma for Roxon's seat?

there's a 24 points margin but that might not be enough
