To all those complaining about 'boat people'.

Tell us your stories about how you have been personally affected by boat people.

Do you have any living next door?
Have you lost your job?
Do they get between you and your next beer?
Have you worked with any?
Have you been personally introduced to one?

Personal experiences, please.
None of that mates, wifes, cousins, GGgrandfathers second wifes third cousin stuff.
Real, first hand experiences.

Don't want stories about those who came by plane.
Just boat people.

Good start, I suppose, but remind me not to come live in your neighbourhood.

I am presuming that these are ALL 'boat people' that you are referring to and NOT assisted migrants.

I must live in a lucky area, as we have ALL these groups you mention and none of the fuss.

I DO have problems with the sons and daughters of my Aussie friends staggering home, wasted, from the pub on Thur Fri and Sat nights.
One instance of mates son, pissed, wrapping his dads car around a tree and killing two of his mates.
Another dill  know drove his car along wrong side of rode nearly collecting me as I was coming out of my driveway. Can absolutely guarantee he wont do that again. Not near me anyway.

I could go on, but I think you get my drift.

I'm still interested in hearing any first hand stories though.

You aren't confusing your Sudanese feud with this incident, are you?
---------------
Maori and Pacific leaders in Brisbane have met with African leaders after the hit-and-run death of a Maori teenager.
Jordan Tukaki was killed outside a party in the suburb of Logan at the weekend, and there are fears there could be revenge attacks.
Just two weeks before his 18th birthday, Mr Tukaki was run down and killed at a Brisbane birthday party that had become out of control.
A 21-year-old from Sierra Leone has been charged with his murder and there are now fears it could escalate into a race war.

there is also the fact that some diseases such as TB which are very common in asia and the middle east, can lie dormant for 20, 30, 40 years and reactivate when other illnesses occur. there is NO way to prevent this (short of turning everyone around)

We have people arriving on planes every day from Asia and the Middle East.

Better get yourself out to the airport and stop them.

highly unlikely someone would spend 30 years in an airport waiting for their tb to become infectious again

So whats the difference? No matter how they travel nobody is going to wait 30 years.

dont live there,
though i have worked there for 24 years now.
i dont discriminate between economic up graders whether they come by boat, plane or swim here.

the do gooder f wits in canberra always dump the whole lot of them in the suburbs with the poorest and most red neck of citizens. they always dump them where there is already enormous competition for charity, housing schooling etc.

the hypocrites who LOVE the migrants usually live in richer suburbs and drive through logan with their windows wound up  Angry Angry

i doubt tools you see on shows like Q and A have ever spoken to a sudanese, a somali, an afghan, an iraqi.
probably not an aborigine either.

as they are totally talking through their ars*es, i couldnt give a flying f#ck what their opinions are Wink Wink Wink

maybe in your own head it's a worry .... I don't think to many others are losing sleep over it. When was the last time a (overstaying) tourist was given a health check?

I'll bet every single asylum seeker gets checked while in detention.

I guess you missed the news article where a government worker contracted TB...

and again, the only 2 groups who recieve free testing (mantoux) and free vaccination (bcg)  are aboriginals and migrants from certain geographic locations.

want to be tested yourself or vacinated...you pay

Then how come that a worker employed at  a detention centre was infected with TB?

From what I heard, boat people's health checks aren't very thorough.

Had any air arrivals spread such a disease?

Best to keep boat people out of the country.

As for the galah who says a terrorist wouldn't risk his life in a boat.

Not too bright, are you?

They cost us billions because they are given TVs, cigarettes and better accommdation than the families who camp on the streets because they have lost jobs and homes because of JuLiar's fraudulent carbon tax

Asylum seekers do come from sh*t parts of the world and tend to cause both health scares with infections and also law and order issues.

Somali youths have been found in Melbourne to be EIGHT TIMES more likely to have run-ins with the police than their Australian counterparts.

It's because they have no law and order where they come from so think nothing of running loose when they are set free in Australia.

Personally I wouldn't allow in any ethnic Africans at all. They are more trouble than what they are worth.
