Sri Lankan Navy picks up surviving asylum seekers
Feb 19th, 2013 at 2:52pm

These were bound for Australia. Whether 21 or 35 of the survivers were dehydrated and starving as they had not eaten in three weeks.

They said that 92 had died and their bodies had been thrown overboard.

Well done, Rudd and Gillard for halting Howard's Pacific Solution!

True or not, we'll hear in good time.

I heard these news this morning, so how could I have started the thread yesterday? There is something about it in Google. . .er. . 21 survivers whilk another statement differs, makes it 135 people picked up by the navy.

You, Aussie, must not forget to take your medicine - you seem to be hallucinating worse than I but I have an excuse - age and sickness.

That is no excuse for stupidity.  You began an Asylum Seeker thread yesterday.  Click on the word 'Thread' in red up ^^^^.

Fleeing Sri Lanka they were probably associated in some way with the Tamil Tigers. They were defeated in a civil war but the SL govt wasn't satisfied with that and have continued to make war against them.

Who can blame them for trying to escape?

Still don't know what your spin is about.

My yesterday's post was just a comment today's, is a report on a happening.

I've heard no more on the subject maybe, like that act of asylum seeker's piracy some time back, the event is being hushed up to suit Labor.

My question is, why haven't this event appeared in our media news?

Surely, not all newshounds are Leftards shielding Labor's failed border control?

How many more boatloads will perish before action is taken to stop them scrambling onto boats?.

Whatever I may say, it still horrifies me to hear of people dying at sea. I'd have more sympathy if they were true refugees but those who destroy their documents have something to hide.

It just shows how desperate these people are... so will Abbott make these peoples lives any better?
Out of sight and out of mind under an Abbott govt?

The families who camp on the streets are also desperate. These would just like a bed to sleep on, not plasma TVs, cigarettes and free legal representation--

Abbott will probably take Howard's lead and illegally invade Sri Lanka and wipe out thousands of Sri Lankans so they don't try and seek asylum here.

Indonesia or Australia.

Sri Lankan police say Burmese asylum seekers rescued from a sinking ship told them 98 people had died of starvation and dehydration during a two-month ordeal after their ship's engine stopped working.

This boatful was last week's news that the media reluctantly released.

That's because the Burmese were refused entry to Malaysia so they turned their boat to come to Australia.

They would have survived if Rudd and Gillard hadn't changed Howard's Pacific Solution- probably returned to Burma.

you consider yourself very knowledgeable on this subject peter... tell us how many Sri Lankans/Tamils came here by boat during the Howard years...this would have been when the civil war was in full blast.. and Sri Lanka was starting to WIN....

I dont pretend to know anything about it..but you have drawn a conclusion

so you must know something.

One thing that you may have noticed (that's if you have the ability to notice anything) I don't get ferel with posters, only with those they back (foolishly).

Why call me a "sour puss' simply because I'm more intelligent than you?
