Yes - the lefties will bring back Howar'd inability to say "Sorry"

But we have an Aboriginal MP and now an Aboriginal Chief Minister in NT

Labor's done SFA other than say sorry

So easy to apologise others' misdeeds!

What about some sorries for having wrecked Australia's economy?

You are still getting your tax payer funded pension are you not?   You are still on the public teat for reduced medicine prices, reduced utility prices etc?   You and the Nanna from Canberra - also on the public teat  - have no right to complain.  Your fortnightly gift from the australian taxpayer is always going to happen.

they should institute a Newman type approach ... anyone who criticises the govt. while receiving govt. benefits of any sort should have those benefits removed.

like the proposed media laws which aim to punish media for stories the govt finds 'offensive'?

have you got a link to that proposal? or are you making it up again?

and so once again, while the ALP wastes its time saying 'sorry' and then doing bugger all, the Libs dont say sorry but get on with the job of improving things.

talk... the labor alternative to effectiv policy.

What exactly is he doing?
Other then employing more public servants to fine people with no money?
If they don't pay the fine will it mean imprisonment?

More Abo's in custody, great just what we need and if not whats the point of the fine in the 1st place.

Sorry did bugger all, but from what I see here so will this.

he spends time in aboriginal communities every year working with them. he has a signficant interest and that is a hell of a better start than labor that just said sorry and then forgot about it.  as PM he is going to take personal interest in it. At least he is trying.

Yes he does and I'm inclined to believe he genuinely wants to improve things and not just by giving them more cash.
However even with this being a personal passion we still see no detail, just motherhood statements and the threat of punishment.
Surely if he believes he can at least be forthcoming with his ideas and implementation of said ideas.
Western Sydney doesn't give a sh!t about abos so he shouldn't be constrained by votes.

western sydney might not but the latte-sippers do. not that they woudl ever actual DO anything but they like to criticise and complain and wallow in faux-guilt. Abbott is keeping his power dry until after being elected. after all, do you think there even IS an aboriginal policy that would be anything but a vote loser? i dont recall there ever being an aboriginal policy around elections that was ever more than motherhood statements. after all, it is an area with no hope of improvement no matter what resources arae put into it. Abbott wil try hard, do his best and be routinely criticised for it.  Perhaps labor had it right all along. Doing nothing gets criticised and acheives nothing. but unfortunately trying hard and passionaltely tends to have the same outcome.

yeah but they create a nice lot of contoversy and complain about eveil things like making them go to school, stop raping their kids and being lifelong alcoholics. perhaps not attacking each other with a machete wouldnt be a bad idea either.

but either way the worst possible ministry has to be aboriginal affairs. the only things that could work (liek cutting off all their welfare) are not possible. horrible job!

That's a pretty good summation. Kudos for taking a personal interest and distancing the party from Howard's failure to say sorry. But where are the guts of the plan. Only in a political context does it make sense for Mundine and Robinson to be endorsing the LNP plan at this stage.

And to think Maqqa and the rest of the Neo Cons here claimed it would be the end of the world as we know it when Kevin Rudd made his historic SORRY speech almost 6 yrs ago.
Its amazing just how little of themselves these people put into their outrage and just how much of it is just repeating their masters spin of the day.
It does show that we should never take anything theses people say seriously.

Im sure none of us has forgotten the years of rage these people twisted themselves in knots over after Kevin Rudd said "Sorry" and how happy they were when the Libs countered with a speech that pretty much told the indigenous people of this country that they were good for nothing, useless leeches and that they should proud to lose their country to the poms and be driven into slavery and poverty.
Now...surprise surprise..its cuddle an Abbo time.
It would be funny if it wasn't the attempted destruction of an ancient race of people and hundreds of years of discrimination and abuse we were talking about.

You bitched like an old woman like the rest of them until the day Rudd was dumped..seriously Maqqa all you're showing is that you never post your own opinions..all you do is tow the line of the Liberal leader at the time.
