Hahahahahahaha! What a lame attempt @ insult.

Not an insult, just an observation.

yikes... was the outcome okay in the end?

Junior pilot and a senior nav, and a spectacular landing, it was all filmed by the various TV stations so the footage might be on youtube, well worth a look.  Smiley

When I think of SOB and his idiotic claim to have flown in an F111 i think of the book about the qantas A380 incident with the exploded engine and near catastrophe.

The pilot is a 5th generation pilot, trained in the air force, helicopter pilot in a war zone, personal attache to the governor-general for some time and HE couldn't get in the f111 program or even a ride in one.

yet SOB could because his 'wife worked on one'?

it just gets sillier!

No he isn't.
My dad knew that guy from his flying time and that is exactly true.

My dad was a pilot for 40 years - a Captain for 20 of them - and he didn't have that access.

To think this clown would - is beyond absurd.

You are making things up again longy. Think before typing.

SOB

you are on RECORD as saying that you twit. this entire thread is about your idiotic claims and the unbelievably stupid way you conduct yourself. a clever person when confronted with such a silly claim would just admit it or at least shut up, but not you. YOU have to just keep pushing that dumb claim more and more.

Nope. I specifically said that i didnt say it was BECAUSE of my wife yet you ignore that and keep on with your lies.

Yeah, I actually learnt some interesting stuff on this thread.

Thank you spot for being such a gutless lying BS artist. Your stupidity and pigheadedness gave an opportunity for others to prove you wrong and inform the rest of us at the same time.

actually the pilot was accepted into F111 training but his position was cut just ONE HOUR into the first day and so he still has never flown in one.

Yes, I learned more about F111's and it has actually been quite instructive. and of course SOB provided the regular amusement along the way. I think what I find most amusing is the way in which even when you think he can go no further into the realms of stupidity and insanity, he finds yet another path to go along.

My guess is that this drongo has scarecely driven a CAR nevermind flown in a fighter jet.

Spot, barring some very specific circumstance there's no way in hell you've flown on an F-111. Your wife having been a maintainer doesn't wash simply because you'd waste precious budget money that would better used on flight hours for the aircraft's WSO. Even if by some perversion of all that's holy they cloud afford granting check rides there's an entire squadron of maintainers, half a dozen TV personalities, and every MP that can pass a flight psyical ahead of you in line.

For f*ck's sake, my Pop flew B-52s and B-1Bs for twenty years and niether my Mom, my siblings, or myself ever got to go for a ride in a Buff or a Bone despite both aircraft having spare seating for passengers.

My dad did a stint flying during the Falklands conflict in 1982.
Still as non-military though.
Not many realise (Chard might be aware) just how much quiet "support" and supplies Reagan provided in this war so one of dads roles was to pick up from third party bases and fly it to British military.

They seconded about 50 British Airways captains and FOs.
If I recall right I think Chile was the go-between.

However my point is that even despite this service and the old man having reasonable clearance and connections. His only ride I think has been in a military helicopter.
A 2 seater fighter plane (given how much these cost?!) - hell no.

So spot I cannot help but think your recollection of flying in an f111 is utter horseshit.

We actually offered to second one of our carrier battle groups to the RN for that conflict. Ron and Maggie were total BFFs like that.

The Americans deliberately stalled the vote at the UN and supported the UK on the council shutting down any peace deal.
They also provided supplies, daily information on Argentine movements tracked by US military satellites?

Save sticking US forces in, what else would you have Reagan do?
