Is the number of uninvited people, not of our choosing, whom Rudd & Gillard between them are responsible for allowing into this country on boats.
We had a policy under John Howard which would have prevented this, but no, the giants of the Labor party knew better.
So now we have people coming here unhindered, being given housing & benefits that could have gone to our own needy, and no end is in sight or even contemplated.
Let them roll on in says Gillard.

All asylum seekers are Jesus Christ himself and welcome here in Australia...Atheists on the other hand are squatters with an eviction notice hanging over their heads... Smiley

The estimated number of people who have overstayed their visas and are in Australia at any one time was about 53 900 as at 30 June 2010. The number of overstayers equates to about 0.02 per cent of Australia's population.

The refugee conventions deems them invited.  And the migration act confirms out obligation to assist people recognized as refugees.

I'm also STILL waiting for at least one of the illiterates to PLEASE provide the information showing that when Howard had miraculously "reduced" the boat numbers he rediverted all the money he was saving to help the homeless, disadvantaged within the community.   I stopped holding my breath a long time ago, but seriously hadrian if you can't provide this type of evidence then please stop posting this kind of crap.  It's boring and completely without fact.

Wow... I knew there was an awful lot of taxpayers' money being wasted in this 'asylum seeker' farce but I didn't think it was that bad.

Be interesting to see what our resident 'refugee advocates' have to say now. But, I have a feeling we're only going to hear crickets chirping in this thread from this point on.

Fear not hadrian-now, come September that problem is going to be taken care of...Just like that imposter of a Prime Minister will be taken care of...by the voting public.

That's not going to make that 34,000 go away but it will put a gate on our northern borders. A bloody big one.

All we get from alevine, apologist supreme, is the parrot-like repetition of UN convention mumbo-jumbo which no average Australian gives a toss about.
Never do we hear a word like well, maybe Rudd & Gillard shouldn't have opened the door. I guess that means he approves of everything that has been done or rather, that hasn't been done.
