Because Gillard spent 30 odd years as a socialist before coming PM, she had already fully embodied herself with the "arguments" of "sexism." She can't shrug them off because they've seeped deep, deep into her psyche and have become instinct - instant reflex reactions to certain phenomena. Just as the cat chases a mouse, the trendy feminist shouts sexist when a male disagrees with her.

We have, no doubt, all been guilty at some point of uttering a racist or sexist remark. I wasn't actually disputing the sexist nature of Skippy's remark, I was questioning whether one sexist remark defines you as a sexist.

I'd say it's more to do with a well established pattern of behaviour.

I can't see the point of calling Abbott a mysoginist when the word sexist seems perfectly adequate. Not because of a single sexist comment, but because of a well established pattern of sexist behaviour.

I don't think there is enough evidence to suggest skippy is in the same ballpark.

sexism is not defined by stupid comments. Frankly we all make stupid comments from time to time that do not reflect our true nature. Some of us are more prone to stupid comments but that does not define our true nature. Abbott has no record of genuine sexism at all and when the mysogny speech came out it is notable that it was popular world-wide but here in australia - where we know the actual players - it got no traction at all. Not a single political analyst agreed with Gillard.

It is in fact deeply sexist for her to continue to use the term and it is as idiotic and ineffective as anything else she has done. And Abbott is getting the last laugh as he is often the preferred PM and we all know of the massive margin his party has over Gillard's.

After a heated exchange, she could be heard saying that Abbott was a misogynist. Desperate times for a desperate woman.

Yes.  As far as we know, it has been years now since Tony last threw a punch at a woman.  It is not nice to keep reminding the poor man that he is a neanderthal with a history of throwing punches at women.  It may hurt his feelings.

Another lefty that cant keep up with the lies. Throwing a punch at a woman now. lol

YEs - he threw a punch at a woman's head.  THere were 3 witnesses to the event.  THis was separate to the charge of indecent assault that was laid against him.  Did you not know this?

the indecent assault claim was deemed to have been fabricated. thats more than being found not-guilty. the charge was dropped because of there being zero evidence beyond a claim made that was disputed by all other witnesses.
