Despite lefties saying that the Murdoch press is bias - it seems they are not
The paper is trying it's best to link this defamation case to Abbott despite the fact the case is about Kroger calling Ramjan a nutter and a nobody
http://www.theage.com.au/opinion/political-news/abbott-may-be-pm-before-wall-pun...The defamation case brought by a woman who accused Tony Abbott of punching a wall either side of her head while they were students at Sydney University will not be heard until next year, well after the federal election.
Barbara Ramjan is suing Victorian Liberal Party powerbroker Michael Kroger and The Australian newspaper over comments made during the fallout from her allegations, aired in a Quarterly Essay about Mr Abbott.
Earlier this month Justice William Nicholas ordered the matter be heard before a 12-person jury, instead of the four-person jury that traditionally sits in civil trials, because the case could ''excite prejudice and antagonism''.
In the NSW Supreme Court on Wednesday, Justice Geoffrey Bellew said the court registry had advised him February was the earliest available date for a two-week hearing.

''I was informed that in the circumstances where his honour had previously ordered a jury of 12 persons . . . and in circumstances where the estimate of the matter exceeded five days, that the first available date for hearing was February 3, 2014.''
The hearing is expected to last for up to 15 days.
The case relates to comments Mr Kroger made about Ms Ramjan on the Bolt Report television show on September 23, two articles that appeared in The Australian the next day, and an interview Mr Kroger gave to Alan Jones, in which he called Ms Ramjan ''a nutter'' and ''a nobody''.In September, an essay by David Marr recounted claims by Ms Ramjan that in 1977, after she beat Mr Abbott for the presidency of the university Student Representative Council, he put his face close to hers and punched the wall either side of her head.
Mr Abbott has denied it ever happened.
