So sorry for Simon Crean
Mar 21st, 2013 at 5:07pm

I feel so sorry for Simon Crean, I think Kevin Rudd left him to hang out to dry. Crean above all is a decent man and God knows there are precious few of them in Labor.

There is no way in hell, that Crean would have precipitated this today without some guarantees. I don't know what Machiavellian game Kevin Rudd is playing but its a dangerous one and resulted with his high profile supporter  Simon Crean left out of the boat without a life jacket.

It beggars belief that Simon Crean WOULD NOT have run the scenario past Kevin Rudd before sucking it up and calling for a spill.

Crean has been left without a  Ministry because Gillard sacked him, even before the votes were taken. You can't blame her for that but my great belief is that Kevin  Rudd has just done a Judas Act on Crean and I hope he pays the bloody price...I hope they never recall him.

Rumours I hear is that it is not over and that he is  making some sort of grandstand play. Personally I think he has dealt himself out of the game.

Its pretty obvious Rudd didn't have the numbers.  They are quite delusional.

Look at it from another perspective, he was just given a life boat.

In 6 months all Gillard will be remembered for was what a woeful PM she was and what a mess of a government she lead. Crean will be remembered as the one man that stood up and said this is a shambles and needs fixing. Today she just made him a martyr.

But still, you're right. Poor form by Rudd no matter what.

I think Simon is an honest broker who speaks his mind always in the party interest!!

Would these rumours be from an 'unnamed source within the Labor Party', or some dim little corner of your mind?

As for your being sorry for Simon Crean....

What absolute rot!!

Pearls of wisdom from Froggie, perhaps you should ring Julia and give her your profound advice, I think she might be in the need of some.

methinks your rumours come from mates in the pub (or worse). not one of your rumours has ever come remotely true.

Frankly I don't care whether you believe me or not. I knew last night about the spill but because of the very fact that the last one didn't come off, I held off.

As it turned out I don't think even Simon Crean can comprehend the events of today.

I think he was bushwacked big time by Rudd, who knows what is going on in the mind of that man.

I know one thing,  Labor  Government over the next 6 months is going to be a bloody circus, so buy your peanuts and get a good seat.
