Despite the worst week imaginable, Labor stays in touch with plenty of time to go.

If Rudd can keep his ego in touch, Gillard can still corner Abbott.

Labor holds ground 56 - 44.

With the likes of Chrissy Pyne and Maqqa trying to circumvent a real debate on policy, it looks like they've got zero faith in Abbott nailing this on his own performance.

Can't say I blame them. If I was them, I'd be worried about Gillard towelling him up as well.

Why would we want to do anything when we are ahead 56/44?

Exactly, why risk people thinking about an Abbott government.

Yeah? Look at the Greens and what they did once they got some power with their crazy carbon tax and zero revenue mining tax. Look at the Independents. They said they chose Labor for stability and we've been given anything but stability!

I was talking about smugness. The type of attitude we see every day from Liberal sheep like yourself and some of your mates.

Exactly, progs, was certainly expecting a drop in the polls.

If Labor can hold the gap, getting the Rudd distraction out of the way could be beneficial in the long run.

Labor have their rusted on just like the greens and you would have to say liberals do too. The primary has been around the 30% mark for a while, so I dont see sitting at the bottom of the pond with no air as anything to feel good about.

It was until the newspoll results came out, which is more in line with what I was expecting.

Seems to be the liberal tactic is to repeat over and over "bad government" and the media plays along and the gullible public believes because its repeated over and over.

That's part of the problem. However, Rudd's Machavaelian nature has also contributed to a lot of this damage. The irony is if he had of played a statesman like role, he may well have been drafted back into the leadership if Gillard was unable to make headway in the polls.

Well, they can hardly repeat over and over that this is a good government. That would be an out-and-out lie!

Plenty more weeks to go. More to come from Dullard and the Goose. Should have taken the opportunity Crean gave you last week...but no, Laborites are so thick they have to be up to their noses in sh1t before they can smell it.

The poll is out now. Such good news... for everyone except Labor!

It's been quite a competent government. Growth is good, inflation and unemployment low, labour productivity rising, days lost to industrial disputes well below average, interest rates low, household savings rising. And with Gonski, NBN and the pricing of carbon a plan for the new dynamics of the future.

The self delusionalists are out to play. The new poll today puts Labor 16% behind, they have slipped another 4 percentage points.

If an election were held today they would lose 30 seats a total and absolute wipe out.

Julia Gillard's personal satisfaction rating is 26%.

Over 65% voters are dissatisfied with her performance.

What is happening now is akin to death by a thousand cuts.

It is an obscenity to have this Government,  'In Government'.

An election should be held immediately.
