Read the words carefully

Global surface temperatures have not risen in 15 years

Yes.

Read the words carefully:

Global surface temperatures have not risen in 15 years

Now how about ocean temperatures?
How about  glacial mass balance?
How about the arctic ice cap?

THe planets heat content has continued to rise over the past 15 years.

THE PLANET IS WARMING.

THe fact that surface temperature may have been particularly high in 1998 doe nothing to change this.  No matter what some Pommy tabloid journalist may have told you. [/quote]

Short of drawing you a picture, I've already explained the role oceans play in affecting surface temperatures and climates. The ice caps aren't melting because of global warming. Have you ever heard of the ozone layer??? But clearly you are simply unwilling to accept your point of view is wrong and your argument deeply flawed. That's your problem, not mine.

Do you need me to repeat the evidence I have of you being a liar?  I have posted it many times - and I am more than happy top repost it.  Just let me know

THis would be a good place to start:

You started this thread:
Disband the Climate Commission now for lying to us

Yet after being asked on many occasions to quote for us one of the "lies" you claim were in the "Angry Summer" report you were referring to, you could not produce ONE SINGLE EXAMPLE!!

What other conclusion can we draw from that except that you were telling lies?

Care to explain?

Are you purposely being obtuse, armchair.

What part of the argument don't you get. 90% of. The warming is occurring in our oceans.

So 90% of the 'warming' is in our oceans.
Mmmm.
I get warm and cold patches in my swimming pool here at home, so I would guess the same would be true of an entire ocean eh let alone all the oceans and seas on the planet.
And I don't believe that any 'supposed' temperature monitoring of an entire ocean giving a specific temperature average which the climate change soothsayers swear by could be considered to be accurate considering the gross magnitude of variables present.
The issue isn't the temperatures at all, but the dodgy science used to peddle a viewpoint.
The supposed warmer oceans is responsible for increase in cyclones we havent been seeing, or the islands in our oceans that haven't gone under yet.
For every volcanic island in the ocean that sinks, another volcanic island rises so they shouldn't be used as 'evidence' of rising oceans.
And we are still waiting for the 50,000 climate change refugees that was predicted for 2010 to arrive in Australia on boats from the islands that haven't sunk.
Prediction after prediction after prediction made haven't occurred, and in some cases the opposite is true.
Little wonder Abbott scoffs at the red hat brigade.
It's a question of credibility, and the Church of Climatology has been found to be lacking.

Why don't you global warming alarmists go and bury your heads in the sand. YOUR world view is coming to an end.
Even Gillard is abandoning climate change.

Global warming, like all things based on the laws of physics, cannot be legislated out of existance.

God botherers who think that a diety will just come in and "solve" the problem are delusional to the point of irresponsible.

The laws of physics require more than just a scratchy hypothesis before they get to be called laws. Otherwise you can say the tooth fairy, like all things based on the laws of physics cannot.... after all a kid puts a tooth under the pillow and wallah it is money in the morning. I would say similar things about the standard of scientific proof of "global warming" but that's not true. Alas there is a difference in that there is no difference or no warming or the exact opposite of what was predicted but with each day nothing happens we get even more shrill and worse predictions of incendiary heat and associated catastrophe...what a bunch of losers.
Oh I change my mind I had some ice cubes in my drink 2 hours ago and now....gasp...they're GONE!!!
If you want to reduce CO2 then do something beneficial to society...stop breathing out.

namnugenot, this may be dumb question, but why are you quoting headlines of winter freezes in Europe as arguments against Global Warming.

Even as far back as Al Gores movie, he predicted a European freeze.

Pretty silly to go quoting a propaganda film full of factual errors. Thats just a start. There is plenty of arguing to be had of the "everything means AGW" BS

The sand's probably too hot.   Wink

I think the AGW hypothesis will become less and less popular in the coming years/decades.

Well, I don't think anyone seriously denies that climate change is happening.  It's the "A" in AGW which is the problem.  And, to a lesser extent, the "W".

You guys can't have it both ways every pissy little bit of heat is absolute proof of "global warming" and....apparently...when it is the "worst winter in 100 years " it is also absolute proof of "global warming".
Just because you want to run around and say the sky is falling like an idiot doesn't make it true.
The climate isn't, and never has been, static.
It's been hotter than now and it also has been much, much colder. At the average temperature  over the last 400K years has much of the Europe and N. America covered in ice...so big woop as to Al Gore and the freezing hypothesis...but hang on the ice is melting...but hang on it's colder...but why is the ice melting...you guys are hilarious.

You cannot go around pigeon holing global warming as just "making the weather hotter".  Global warming is a warming of the atmosphere and oceans which both drive local weather. Warmer, in thermodynamic terms, means more excited molecules.  Warmer atmosphere can mean greater moisture carrying capability which may translate to greater floods/snow under some conditions.  Greater ocean tempertures may changed the way the oceans currents flow.  Ocean current has a major effect on coastal city weather patterns.

The earths ability to feed 8 billion people is what is at question if we went to temperatures 400K years ago. Back then the earth only had to support a few million stone age humans, and assorted animals.

BINGO...now that's more like it...
The problem is not temperature regardless of it going up or down a few percent when you have the other variable going up 400,000%. Even when we were at a couple of million we were knocking off  most of the megafauna in every continent other than the one where there was co-evolution.
So your telling us the real problem is that we have too many people more or less. And eight billion people is way to many if we are going to talk about real sustainability...and 'that is the real "lack of elephants" in the room. But here's the real problem with your argument the "CO2 problem" is being addressed to justify, more, not less, population. You are looking at what's good for this many people?, rather than, is this many people good?, let alone exponentially increasing it.

No,  we can sustain 8 billion. Probably 16 billion with our current climate.

I can tell you now, it will be a lot easier to stop AGW than stop population growth.
