One new thread per day per member?
Mar 27th, 2013 at 5:55pm

from an idea on this thread about Maqqa:
http://www.ozpolitic.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1360316893/75#75

Hi Freediver,

I think everyone should be limited to one new thread startup every day.

People like Maqqa - who often start 10 or more  every day - spam the politics board
& it's always anti-Labor - it's as if he is a paid Libbo stooge.

It means that other threads which may be more important get pushed off the top 20 list.

Can the software be set up to do this?

Especially now as we near election time - we are in danger of having this politics board
completely spammed out every day by various political party supporters.

cheers
Bobby

Bobby one new thread per day is more than enough to dominate a board with if you know what you are doing. Try checking how often someone like Maqqa starts threads. The only people this would really reign in are people like DRAH, but we don't need a new rule just for him.

How so?  If I am only allowed one new Topic/Thread per day....how could I possibly dominate the Forum?  Just saying it freediver, does not make it so.

I don't get it freediver.  There are many indications around the Forum, including here and on other Boards......here, you have made your usual supercilious comments......when all it takes is for you, or one of your Moderators to................LOOK at what Maqqa does!  (Not counting PMs sent.)

Have I not raised the issue very clearly at Relationships?

You are being disingenuous about how you 'usually' avoid the Politics Sucks Board.  You have made many posts there, including replies to Maqqa, over the last several days.

Surely not?

Well, I post very, very few new threads AND I may not have much regard for many of Maqqa's posts, particularly because they appear to be SPIN for a specific Political Party.

That said, it would seem that one post a day is somewhat restrictive & hardly a good fit for a "free speech" society!

I said - one new thread per day - not one post.

OK - what about a maximum of 2 threads that can be started each day by each member?

Bobby I think there is already a rule about posting multiple threads on the same topic. Check the pinned threads on politicians suck.

Im not sure what your problem is. I agree with you but was just pointing out that others will be effected and not just the spammers.
