The problem is that because our economy has done so well despite the rest of the western economies doing so poorly that the opposition and their sheep like cheer squad have no option but to invent an economic crises within Australia that doesn't exist.
Australia has done very well for the last few decades and all the bitching and whinging is only because Howard and Abbott lost two elections.
Unless there's another "Tampa" moment Abbott is likely to win the next election so the sheep will have no one to blame but themselves when we then follow the rest of the western economies into a long and deep recession.
Standby for a decade of 70's-80's Fraser/Howard era inflation, unemployment, debt, interest rates and hopelessness.

Of course the ACCC would have to prove any price increase after the carbon tax was due only to the carbon tax.

The whole thing will be a farce.

both you are DNA are morons

Gillard used the ACCC to stop profiteering when the carbon tax came in and you've not criticised that move

But if Abbott uses the ACCC to stop profiteering - then it's a bad idea

MORONS!!!

one was about controlling how much prices went up .... thats a completely different kettle of fish to trying to force prices go down .... it just won't happen and you know it.

You've not respond to the fact that when Gillard ask the ACCC to monitor price then you give it your blessing but when Abbott ask the ACCC to monitor price then it's not going to work

Your only justification is "....and you know it"

So in your opinion the ACCC can only enforce prices going up but not going down  Grin Grin

You know jacksh1t

Ohh, how sweat ... gumpy thinks he knows what I think ...

actually gumpy I think the ACCC is a toothless tiger

If you didn't make that against Gillard's usage of the ACCC then you have no credibility in using it against Abbott

bugger your an idiot ...why would I? I don't see a problem with the carbon tax  ... you do

MORON

We are referring to the ACCC as a regulator for profiteering  Grin Grin Grin

No you are fixated on the ACCC because you think for some obscure reason that it advances your case. You want to blame them when you are proven wrong.

When Gillard was criticised that the carbon tax would allow businesses to rort prices

Gillard defended this by appointing the ACCC to prosecute people who used the carbon tax for profiteering

Lefties accepted this

Now that the carbon tax is removed and people are criticising Abbott that there would be rorting - I have used the ACCC to defend the position and you think it's a bad idea

So the focus here is not about the ACCC but rather your hypocrisy you guys display.

Gillard uses ACCC to monitor price - not one comment from the left

Abbott uses ACCC to monitor price - bad bad bad

Whenever Maqqa loses an argument he resorts to inventing imaginary 'lefties' that he can beat in a debate.

no we weren't ... I don't give a fig about profiteering ... I care about Abbott deliberately and knowingly lying.

you think your little brain explosion in regards to the ACCC in some way diminishes Abbotts lies ... it does not .. everyone, including yourself and Abbott, knows the prices won't come down.  ACCC or no ACCC

When Maqqa starts screaming "MORON!" at people you know he has nothing positive to offer and has even run out of anti-Labor arguments.

You are the only one saying that, most are saying that prices will not go down.

I have used the ACCC to defend the position

doubt that you have the appropriate authority over the ACCC.

Abbott uses ACCC to monitor price - bad bad bad

Who said that monitoring is either good or bad, everyone including yourself and Tony knows that the prices will not go down, they never do.
