Does someone stop being Australian when they live somewhere else?

Is Nicole Kidman Australian?
Keith Urban?
Clive James?
Kylie Minogue?

They are all not Aussies John?

I've never seen Nicole, Keith Clive or Kylie betray Australia the way you do ... anytime they speak Australia it's to talk it up, not put it down. You could learn a thing or two from them ...  the arrogance that you think you are anything like them.

I'm just giving you examples of people we both know who don't live in Australia.

Now Keith Urban is born in Australia (like me) and for work reasons lives in the USA (like me).
Pretty sure he is entitled to give his views on how Australia is run (like me).

when was the last time you saw him talk down Australia?

What on earth does the ability to feed my family have to do with my views on a social issue such as this?

What a ridiculous attempt at an argument maqqa. You have outdone yourself this time.

Because what it comes down to is the individual family unit

Most people are more worried about cost of living

So lets vote on the issue based on that and see if we get a majority

now you want to dictate why people should vote for something? If you are merely concerned for your family unit, you go for it, but many others, myself included, don't see this as having anything to do with my family unit .. as far as I'm concerned this is a social issue and one of equality ... as such I'll vote accordingly.

Is that the Greens agenda?

They want to dictate?

David Cameron is a member of the Greens?   Grin..good one Maqqa  Grin

David Cameron is one more of these decisions away from losing my vote.

A South African living in America gets to vote in the UK?

How does that work, Andrei?

As with most other things (which why everyone thinks you are an idiot) - you are wrong.

You can't be on 2 electoral rolls anywhere.

I am a UK citizen and an Australian citizen.

You simply pick which you want to be on.
You dont give up anything.

Understand things before commenting please.

Besides you CHOSE to give up the aussie right to vote according to yourself you have no right to comment on anything political in this country.

Cutting grants on research into shale oil fracking processes, cutting grants into P3 tax credits on innovative energy delivery, cutting grants into upstream process refinement - all of which result in better processes in the Australian sector is not welfare!!!!!!

Those grants are intrinsic into energy delivery in Australia.

Cutting them for a short term political surplus is disgraceful.

Why would you cut them and force the expense wholesale onto companies?

Because i believe in a market based system ... don't you? if comapnies want the profit they shouldn't expect govt. subsidies .
It is merely your opinion that the results will be better for Australia , not mine ... I think any sort of fracking is bad for the country long term .. they should never let companies do it let alone give them money to do so ... you want better processes in Australia, move away from oil and gas based energy supply and move onto newer technologies ... then you can claim to have Australias interests at heart ... you are just worried about the few million $$$ your comapny stands to make .. don't pretend you care for Australias well being.

It's not opinion.
Results over the last decade -
+ Pollutant loss into the ocean
+ Deeper dive technique and exploration
+ Fracking refinement and lower seisemic echoes
+ Smoother upstream capture

All of that data has improved over the last decade - to the benefit of Australia.
If the Australian Government wants better processes and better energy capture, then it should wear some of the costs.

It's simple common sense.

Australia stands to gain hugely from process improvements.

Relevance anywhere to anything?

Voting is not compulsory to people not on the roll.
Dual citizens have to pick which roll to be on - I am on the UK.

So again, idiot, I am still an Australian citizen.

This is not a debate about if you think it's right or wrong

Currently we don't have gay marriages. A change in the law would benefit the voters

So do you want gay marriages?

If you vote yes - how does it change you or the ability to feed and clothed your family

If no - then you've voted for the status quo.

I vote no gay marriages

It does not impact me so why should I vote yes?

Must I vote yes to everything that does not impact me because someone is going to call me names?

If the Greens believe in this sooooo strongly - let them make this their election centre-piece

If Wong believes in this soooo strongly - let her make this the centre-piece at the next election

No political party will do it!!!

Not even the Greens.

Gay marriages is a second thought now because the Greens leader is not gay!!

It may not affect you now but what about when your kid comes to you and says he wants to marry his boyfriend? Would that impact you?
