Since we now know that Antarctic sea ice is expanding - therefore it's next to impossible to blame melting Antarctic ice for sea level increases
So we'll just ignore the rapid melting of arctic ice.
increased antarctic ice under AGW has been known for a long time, and it has been modelled. The really silly thing about this is that it is perfectly consistent with AGW.
We haven't even got the the Arctic Ice yet
In this thread I am highlighting the links the climate alarmists are trying to make
(1) AGW causing Antarctic ice to melt
Yes. AGW is causing Antarctic ice to melt. It is melting 10 times faster than it was 600 years ago
A report has found that the Antarctic summer ice melt is now occurring 10 times faster than it did 600 years ago.http://www.abc.net.au/news/2013-04-15/antarctic-melting-ten-times-faster-than-60...Though, warming is also causing more ice to form in Antartca due to increased precipitation from the warmer air
The new analyses are based on climate models and sea-surface temperature and precipitation observations from 1950 to 2009. They show that, in the 20th century, ocean warming boosted precipitation in the upper atmosphere over the Antarctic region, which fell as snow.http://news.nationalgeographic.com.au/news/2010/08/100816-global-warming-antarct...Maqqa wrote on Apr 1

(2) Causing sea level to rise
Yes - sea level is rising, but most of it to this point is being caused by the thermal expansion of water. Further melting of teh Antarctic and Greenland ice sheets, as well as the world's glaciers will increase this.

(3) Displacing low lying islands
Yes. Since sea levels are rising - it stands to reason that low lying islands become more marginal for human society as the fresh water lens' which support them are subject to saline intrusion

(4) Causing climate change refugees
Yes. People can't live without fresh water. Countries like Kiribat recognise this:
Climate change could force the entire nation of Kiribati to re-locate to Fiji, the nation’s president has warned. Speaking to the Associated Press today, Kiribati President Anote Tong said his Cabinet had agreed a plan to buy around 6,000 acres of land on Fiji’s main island, Viti Levu.http://www.rtcc.org/kiribati-cabinet-approves-plan-to-buy-land-in-fiji-for-clima...Maqqa wrote on Apr 1

(5) Therefore we have to spend money on AGW
Therefore we need to reduce emissions. If this is done by using renewable energy sources, it will actually save money in the long run.
