Even Alan Jones supports anti CSG lobby, and I commend him on that. This particular subject will hurt Abbott a lot more in the bush than any of the city slicker conga line realise, most of you nut jobs probably haven't even heard of it, but in the bush it is poison with traditional farmers and hippies marching side by side and vowing never to vote National again.

Yes, it's the ONE thing on which Jones and I are in total agreement.

wouldnt it be more interesting if the ABC or others came up with solutions instead of just PANIC..

I find that a right turn off to be honest.... and 4 corners are experts on that..

there are solutions but they always cost money.

its like building the tunnels then deciding they are a health hazard  they work fine if no one uses them.........duh...

we dream we plot we plan..yet its all on the cheapest quote. which usually means cutting corners..... guess where?

On this issue he's right up your Rsss Skip  Cheesy

http://www.abc.net.au/rural/news/content/201304/s3727376.htm
Quote:
Stephen Galilee, from the NSW Minerals Council, argues that the impact on the environment from exploration is very small and its should be encouraged by land holders, communities and government.

"Mining is a very small user of land compared to agriculture. One tenth of a per cent for mining compared to 76 per cent for agriculture," he said.

"The number of mines in our state has relayed relatively stable over seven years and the amount of land being used for mining operations is very, very small."

The Greens don't give a stuff.  Just another boogie man excuse so they can stuff up the big miners and inexplicably drive away mining investment dollars.

Mines use effall land yet the tax revenues, energy generation, job creation BENEFITS are enjoyed by all and by far outweigh any chicken little political concerns from small minded anti-enterprise tree-huggers.

Scary stuff...something rotten in Santos. Why has it taken so long for all this bad stuff to come out? Cover up...yeah Big Time!

Good Grief, Red....

Common ground.
Woohoo!!

Cover up??
Now who woild do that sort of thing?
Surely not the gas miners....

I went to a meeting at Camden recently and I can tell you that Joe Public ain't happy.
A lot of the downside to CSG has been known for some time, but industry double-speak has tried to sweep it under the carpet.

Well, cods is safe as I doubt any mining will be carried out underneath Canberra.
Any CSG well-heads in your area, misty?

Fracking is crazy.
What's to stop radioactive water coming up as a result & contaminating water supplies?
What happens to all the fracking chemicals?

Did you all see the methane bubbles coming out of rivers?
Methane is much worse than CO2.

What about the farmers who's underground wells dry up?

The big companies behind it all - get their licenses too easily.

4 Corners is a top show.

Yes Nail,
it's environmental vandalism.
Fancy disturbing underground water ways that have provided fresh drinking water
to lakes & stream for millions of years - just for some short term profit.
