Gillard - voters are misogynists

Prime Minister Julia Gillard says Australians are still getting used to the idea that she is "not a man in a suit".

Ms Gillard addressed the Foreign Correspondents Association today about the economy and the Asian century and also the trip she will make tomorrow to China.

She was asked if she believed hostility towards her by the media and some politicians was based on misogyny.

The Prime Minister said she had always been very clear about "calling it out" when she saw sexism but wanted to focus on a broader point about the novelty of having a woman in the job.

"It's not been ever the norm in our nation before for people to wake up in the morning and look at the news and see a female leader doing this job," she said.

"For all of the years before you would see a man in a suit.

"I am not a man in a suit.

"I think that that has taken the nation some time to get used to. I think it's probably still taking the nation a bit of time to get used to."

Ms Gillard said she has had some "uncomfortable moments" in the role but predicted it would get easier for future female leaders.

"I feel one of the things that will certainly happen, having had the first female prime minister, is it's going to be easier for the second, and then it's going to be easier again for the third, and then everybody will get over it and forget about it and no-one will even bother to comment on whether the images of leadership in our nation that particular year are images of female leadership or male leadership," she said

I think gillard being a misandrist, cancels her views out on the subject of sexism. No, I am sure.

Why do we allow this moron to say things like this...

She accuses Abbott as a Climate Denier

She's trying to say he's a GFC denier

Opposition Leader Tony Abbott says the level of government debt has skyrocketed in recent years and Labor has no plan to get it under control.

But the Prime Minister said the debt was not the result of government spending, but the global financial crisis.

"Anyone who pretends this debt should not exist is effectively denying the GFC happened," she said.

"Anyone who pretends the GFC didn't happen should be treated as the same kind of amusing curiosity as those who believe the Earth is flat."

So coming closer to the election, she will call us extremists. It is on the cards and it would be the first time.

seems dummy is getting dumber by the minute. Dummy, take your pills!

Of course the Coalition would like to create the illusion that the GFC didn't happen. And given how we managed to survive it quite well in 2008, it's very easy to do so, and then whine about a debt. A debt, mind you, that they themselves at the time were going to do if they were in government!  Grin  It's very easy to blame "economic mismanagement" and point to a debt, but it's a lot harder to do if we did end up with 8% unemployment in 2008 and still a government trying to achieve a surplus.

You are such an idiot. Go back to working on your "business raises profit" idea.
