Prometheus 2: Paradise - has fallen flat. The writer behind Prometheus 1 has bailed and left the entire production in the lurch of the unknown. The sequel 'has' been canned due to the complexity of the first movie for starters and all of its loose ends that were totally reliant upon Sequels. Ridley Scott looks too old to continue as well.

3rd Series of STAR WARS: will not be done by George Lucas, which makes one wonder if they will be done at all? Apparently 'DISNEY' may take the series onboard?
Prequels (Judaism) - same Director, different Story
Episodes 4,5,6 (Christian) - George Lucas (Jew)
Episodes 7,8,9 (Mohomedism) - different Director, same Story.
...predictable.

SILMARILLION will not be done by Peter Jackson, nor will he be doing UNFINISHED TALES and other Tolkien sub-stories of before the Hobbit.
Other Directors will have to approach the Tolkien family for starters to get approaval and rights to do so.
Hobbit: for the kiddies
LOTR: for the YA (Young Adult)
Silmarillion/etc: for the Adults

Interest for the Silmarillion is growing far more than it is for the current Hobbit (kiddy show) output.
Luc Besson and even Russel Crowe have been punted on as possible Directors for the Simarillion.
