What is wrong with enlisting the long term unemployed? Spend years unable to find a job and you quickly start to feel worthless and unwanted, enlistment can give you a sense of accomplishing something and of belonging.

They can also get killed. Nobody should be forced to take a job where there is a good chance they will be killed - especially if they disagree with it.

Spoken from your vast military experience spot?

And you wonder why we called you out on your bullsh1t claim of service.

All your military knowledge comes from comics and movies, no doubt about it.

Where exactly did i claim to serve? Link to it please.

Unemployed and < 30 and into the army..... Cheesy

Why do people who have NFI always propose putting no hopers and delinquents into the armed forces.....The army is for dedicated people who are disciplined and prepared to do hard work to defend our nation.....The armed forces is not a place for people the right consider unworthy or hopeless.....Think about how stupid your suggestion really is mate???

What would an Abbott government be like? Last week our probable prime minister gave us clues with two surprising statements: an Abbott government would cut off funding of public transport projects, and allow the earnings of retirees with millions in super funds to go untaxed.

Does anyone have the transcript to this?

I love the way lefties take a sound byte and smear eg Whyalla comment

I note the mention of Abbott's book Battlelines in the article and I know how much FD loves to quote that and a 1.25min sound byte from a 13 minutes interview as LIB policies - when in reality it was a discussion on his book

The book is meant to be a discussion point

No. I took the approach (and still take the approach) that you dont know if i have served or not.

SOB

Like I said the faggot approach.

You either did or didn't and since those who have served are easily identified through Mil-speak, a skill that never quite goes away, Im calling no.

If you had served you would:

1. Just say you have, instead of being a coy faggot, who do understand the legality of false service claims at least

2. Know a hell of a lot more about military life than you do.

3. Not talk about other service men and women so disparagingly. (it is on page 5 of your f111 thread)

4. Have some shred of evidence available to confirm your service, instead you take the maybe I did, maybe I didn't to cover up the facts.

5. Constantly making basic mistakes of fact when discussing military matters, like who actually works on aircraft and who doesn't.

It all adds up to a walter mitty wanna-be.

Seriously how many times has it been pointed out to you? There arent enough jobs for everyone

I do not believe that to be the case Borg.

This is from january

http://www.smh.com.au/data-point/job-vacancies-plunge-as-confidence-slides-20130...

Quote:
Australia had only 166,000 vacant jobs in November, down from 193,000 two years earlier. More than 600,000 Australians were looking for work.

How many looking for jobs?

SOB

Hellooooo swagman! are you trying to ignore this?

SOB

Swagman you need to acknowledge this so we can move on and you can stop saying that everyone can "get a job".

SOB

Advertised job vacancies are not the only way to get a job and I'll still maintain that if you really want a job you can get one.

Your linked article it is damning testimony that Labor's taxathon is not a very good way to generate employment. Sad

Ease the revs....mate.

I'm talking about national service and obviously I don't think it is a stupid suggestion.

Many individuals are unemployed just because they have no experience, no self discipline and low self esteem.

A stint in the military could provide all these things and also give the country the added bonus of an active reserve and who knows they might actually like it and stay on.

Don't panic crook, no-one is going to make you join up.  Grin

I can assure you the ADF does not want a bunch of useless retards, cluster smacking the system.

The best place for the useless is on the dole not in the ADF; it is not the dumping ground for d1ckheads.

Right. Then we'd end up with a military resembling the Yanks.

Just like no body should be forced to hand over half their income to the Govt when others pay naught? Huh

They need not be forced.  I agree that they shouldn't be.

Just stop their dole if they refuse. Sad
