I'm an agnostic, but believe in spirits. They make themselves known if you're receptive.
Me too.
With me it's invisible gremlins. Not always downright evil, but always mischievous. Their entire motivation for living is to enjoy 'schadenfreude'.
It amuses them to make people negatively stressed in some way. They like engineering little 'accidents' and 'upsets'.
It's they who are responsible for 'Murphy's Law'.
I've been the victim of countless, almost
impossible negative little 'coincidences' in my lifetime ~ for Their vicious and delinquent entertainment..
I can cross a road in the middle of the Nullabor Desert and get hit by the only vehicle within 300 miles.
I can dive amongst a crowd of beach-side swimmers and be the one the shark targets.
I'll be the one whose parachute doesn't open.
Etc.
But I've learnt to beat these imps at their own game - sometimes.
I learnt to look where there is
hiding room whenever I dropped something. Sure enough, a coin, a remote control, whatever, would be hiding
exactly where I couldn't see it despite a 350 degree view of the floor or ground.
And so often the dropped object would have traversed an
impossible distance to get to this one small place of concealment.
After quite awhile, They woke up to the fact that I'd worked out their little strategy for annoying me ... and so They started making my dropped objects STAY where they had fallen onto the carpet or ground... while I was looking in the hidden places ...
Does buttered toast fall face down... ? Helloooooooooo...?
Does the phone ring just when the most interesting part of a movie is playing on TV ... huh?
Etc etc...
And how many times have you brought an electronic gadet home from the shops with a sticker on it saying "Quality Control Passed" ~ and it doesn't work. If I could have a dollar for every time that's happened to me ... Had to send back a tumble-dryer the other week.
Ever 'lose' things ... and you know damn well where you put it, but it's not there any more ... ? And then hours later you find it EXACTLY where you first looked ... ?
Gremlins and imps.
