I would start with the Australian. I think it has a definite conservative bias, but not in a stupid way. Or the SMH if you can get it. It depends what info you want. Ask your doctor if pain persists.

Press wise you are pretty much limited  to Murdoch and Fairfax.

Source both and you might hit a happy medium.

I agree  Grin

Good to check out from time to time. Pizzes whatsiface to no end. Always good for a laugh.

Seriously though, use google using parts of articles and see if you can get different sources with different information about the same subject.

Best to stear clear of crikey and getup, unless you like propaganda with a lefty slant.

Try google news. You can have several sources for each story and if the story is ONLY in the murdoch papers then its obviously either made up or a dog whistle.

I stopped buying any News papers 37 years ago, I worked out that I was giving very wealthy people money for them to shove their opinions down my throat and to attempt to brain wash me at my own expense. So I opted out.

Your question is a really good one and I have no good answer except I would say where possible try to find the base data and make your own decision and not to buy into other peoples spin if you can help it. We all get caught out more often than we would like.

Your first examples of not taking options like 2UE or the Telegraph seriously are good ones particularly on politics where they have an agenda which is independent of the facts. Their opinion in most cases is in place before the event. They are a lot worse than most of the left groups.

On political matters it is often relatively easy to look at the Legislation and what both parties are saying in support and against plus the view of the independents and Greens sometimes for balance. You can put yourself in a position to make up your own mind though it can be tedious unless you are passionate about the topic.

A lot easier to just reference someone who is going to tell you what you want to hear whether it is true or not.
