That can't be denied. But a little kid died and this  isn't the time for point scoring.

Sure A.P, understand you have a Greens phobia because we are so effective.

In the meantime, try directing your attention to this thread's topic. Terrorism and the consequences of --> Already Al Qaeda is being suspected and so do the old parties here repeat their mistakes in Afghanistan and go gung ho into Africa ~ or will they wait until Al Qaeda assists J.I in a local attack.

What have Abbott and Gillard learned from the deaths and other costs of our mistakes in Afghanistan?

First of all, the topic of this thread is just to inform forum users of this incident. Nothing more, nothing less. As for being scared of the Greens? Yeah, right. I'm scared of the party polling close to single figures that even the ALP is distancing itself from and that the Coalition will have nothing at all to do with. Your comments are typical of those usually seen from the Greens - disconnected from reality and absolutely freaking ridiculous. Go chain yourself to a tree or something.  Roll Eyes

President Obama

"We don't know why anyone would do this"

Really.

Yeah, it was a pretty silly statement.

Really?
Tell me. Why would someone want to set a bomb off in a crowd of people watching a running race?
Why would someone want to kill women and children out on a day in Boston?

Obviously you understand them to know why.

Not just any race. That was the third race of the day - a charity race to raise money for charities. There were lots of parents with children in that race, including kids in prams. Why bomb a charity race? The intent is to cause as much panic and fright as possible and as much carnage as possible. It's as much a psychological attack as a physical one. The attackers are saying, "we don't care if you're raising money for sick kids (or whatever the race was raising money for), we will attack you as we see fit". Horrible, but that's their mentality.

and who are the attackers and what are their motives?

No doubt, the USA needs to examine what resources the COngo, Litchenstein and Zakastan have of value and invade then so that US corporation can PROFIT from them

Who did this? We'll eventually find out. If Al qaeda did this it looks pretty weak. Is a bunch of spectators the best they can do? It would be a propaganda disaster if they are connected to it because it's so low.

Turns out the scare at JFK library was a fire - no connection.

This whole thing smells amateurish - the timing ( four hours after the start, meaning most runners would have finished and many of the crowd gone home) and the bombs themselves ( home made devices filled with ball bearings).

A dreadful act, but on the same day 50 Iraqis were bombed to death in the lead up to elections.

America has never targeted civilians. They get killed trying to kill their enemies. When civilians are being targeted it means they can't get to American soldiers etc. Let us not forget how many civilians have been blown up by Iraqi's and Afghan's etc. It's not the time for this anyway.

Given the many millions of innocent civillians that have been bombed and murdered by the Americans in Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan and Central America to name just a few countries I would agree that to do such a thing is cowardly and weak.
The sort of thing that happened in Boston happens every day in Iraq and Afghanistan thanks to the yanks so although its an awful tragedy lets not forget that the yanks are not the only people on the globe.

America has never targeted civilians.

____________

The atomic bombings of the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan were conducted by the United States during the final stages of World War II in 1945. The two events are the only use of nuclear weapons in war to date.
Following a firebombing campaign that destroyed many Japanese cities, the Allies prepared for a costly invasion of Japan. The war in Europe ended when Nazi Germany signed its instrument of surrender on 8 May, but the Pacific War continued. Together with the United Kingdom and the Republic of China, the United States called for a surrender of Japan in the Potsdam Declaration on 26 July 1945, threatening Japan with "prompt and utter destruction". The Japanese government ignored this ultimatum, and the United States deployed two nuclear weapons developed by the Manhattan Project. American airmen dropped Little Boy on the city of Hiroshima on 6 August 1945, followed by Fat Man over Nagasaki on 9 August.
Within the first two to four months of the bombings, the acute effects killed 90,000–166,000 people in Hiroshima and 60,000–80,000 in Nagasaki, with roughly half of the deaths in each city occurring on the first day. The Hiroshima prefecture health department estimated that, of the people who died on the day of the explosion, 60% died from flash or flame burns, 30% from falling debris and 10% from other causes. During the following months, large numbers died from the effect of burns, radiation sickness, and other injuries, compounded by illness. In a US estimate of the total immediate and short term cause of death, 15–20% died from radiation sickness, 20–30% from burns, and 50–60% from other injuries, compounded by illness. In both cities, most of the dead were civilians, although Hiroshima had a sizeable garrison.
On 15 August, six days after the bombing of Nagasaki, Japan announced its surrender to the Allies, signing the Instrument of Surrender on 2 September, officially ending World War II. The bombings led, in part, to post-war Japan's adopting Three Non-Nuclear Principles, forbidding the nation from nuclear armament. The role of the bombings in Japan's surrender and their ethical justification are still debated.

Americans dont deserve this sort of thing anymore than the many millions of people they've bombed, tortured, raped and murdered and whoever did it should be bought to justice and punished asap.
Im still betting its a home grown nut job and as far as Im concerned they should hang.

So I suppose that you believe it would of been better if America invaded Japan? Millions would have died. Thank you America for bringing about victory for the allies and for the freedom we now have.

I agree that it doesn't look typical for Islamic terrorism. Not enough deaths.
