270 million of uncollected GST on online sales

BIG DEAL !!!

So they are trying to tell us that collecting this tax will miraculously save the retail industry here !! Are you fricken kidding me !!

How much will it cost to collect this tax ?

I don't think GST would make a difference to the sales.

It's the strong dollar that is fueling the O/S online sales boom.

even that isn't really the problem. It might make it worse but how many purchases are for items much less than half the local price? Most I suspect. So even if the exchange rate halved, online sales are still better.

I buy probably 4-5 things a month online for under $1000 from the US, almost all of them are atleast 40% cheaper then here.

Corporate greed and ridiculous commercial rents are why we pay so much for goods.
