I agree.

Gandalf, are you promoting any kind of reforms or changes within the Muslim community?

It has nothing to do with 'Medieval times', one could easily find examples of f wits existing in every time in every culture.

I'm promoting a rather universal "don't be a douchebag" message.

Kudos to you then.

The decent Muslims have to suffer every time one of these throw-backs to Medieval times believes he has a licence to step outside the bounds of acceptable behaviour.

'The decent Muslims have to suffer every time one of these throw-backs to Medieval times believes he has a licence to steps outside the bounds of acceptable behaviour of a Shria jurisdiction.'

When we allow 'rightly guided' moslems to come from a Sharia jurisdiction, to a non-moslem jurisdiction, the moslem brings his cultural mores rights with him.

Moslems consider their own social morality to be superior [to all other peoples], so the cultural behaviour/inclination of a moslem is 'proper' - wherever he is.

Remember, 'catmeat' ?

Remember, she "had no right to say no", "She was not covering her face or wearing any headscarf"

Remember, 'Aussie sl ut' ?

So you are not encouraging Muslims to address the "serious issues" you see with Islam?

I was making the point that some people will behave 'inappropriately' due to their cultural values being set in aspic since Medieval times ~ and then there are those who act 'inappropriately' due to nothing more than a deficit of character and emotional maturity.

It was a long time ago that I abandoned the fiction that religious belief makes for a virtuous person. (Although it is true that some rascals have 'turned their life around' after 'finding Jesus').

In this Castro case it might have been a different story if he had been a Protestant. It's only Catholics who can turn up to Mass each week and have their sins forgiven ... and forgiven .... and forgiven ...  Roll Eyes

Good man. I would finance your efforts if I was a Saudi prince.  Cool

Better still ~ I'll finance you personally if you'll preach secularism to your congregation.

Sure. I just didn't realise you intended this as a reference to Islam.

The Usual Suspects

I can't handle the sheer volume of these news items from the West about more mischief from The Usual Suspects.

Thank you in advance.

I watched the interview. He said he was possessed by the devil.

What you immigrant Muslims have yet to understand is that people in the West are nowhere near as saturated with religiosity as you people are.

'Sunday-morning Christians' comprise the vast majority of the English-speaking nations. Come Monday, and it's back to dog-eat-dog in the workplace.

Why do you assume that majority of Muslims are any different, Herbie?

I suppose we could take Fred Nile as the typical Christian.  Do you think that would be representative?   Roll Eyes

Someone said we could not judge a person's Aboriginality on their skin colour.  Why isn't that applied in the matter of Pascoe?  Tsk, tsk, tsk...   Roll Eyes Roll Eyes
